“excellent night out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Jim recommend for a good night out and the girls wanted to go. the food was basic but you got as much drink for both adults and children. The show was really good and entertaining and well worth its money.

“My lords and ladies...tis a very jolly evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

If you wish to escape to another age and be prepared to pretend that you are at a medieval banquet, then you are in for a great night. This is not high end entertainment or dining and to get the full enjoyment you need to join in otherwise you may not enjoy it.

The castle looks pretty cool from the outside, although it's not an old castle. When you pull up, you are greeted with the knights and you are allocated a coloured bib to wear which are your team's colours for the night.

As you go in, you get an individual picture taken with the Duke as well as a family picture at your benches. Yes, they will then try to sell these to you as a souvenir.

You are shown to your benches within the great hall for your night of jousting, sword fighting and light enternatinment. Fizzy orange juice and red/white wine are included in the price and you can drink as much as you like of these. Beer is not included but can be bought for 5 euros for a litre.

You get soup in a bowl with a roll - no spoons so do expect to slurp! The main course is roast chicken, a baked potato and corn on the cob - again hands required, so I would recommend taking baby wipes as your fingers will get greasy. The food is not spectacular but I found it tasty enough. You then get a small tub of ice cream for dessert and you do get a spoon :o)

The entertainment is good with pretend sword fighting, jousting, horse tricks mixed together with a bit of a story. They key part of the night is to support your knight and cheer, whoop and holler for them and of course boo the other knights and teams. This is what makes it so much fun.

After the main show is over, you then move to a theatre where there is a show of medieval dancing, flamenco etc. and the opportunity to buy drinks at the bar. There is no free drink at this point. There is also a small souvenir shop to buy gifts etc.

The medieval night wasn't cheap but my family and I all had a great time and loved joining in with the banter and the atmosphere was great. So if you have kids then I would say this is a must. If you don't have kids but you are one at heart, then I would still recommend you go along.

“Very cheesy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

We went because we thought it might be fun, but really it was very cheesy. It's good for families with kids or maybe people in big groups, but maybe not so good for couples.

“"A Knight To Remember!!!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

Can't believe some of the negative reviews this "experience" has received. We thought it was BRILLIANT!! From pulling up at the "Castle" and being greeted by the "Knights", the atmosphere was terrific. We were made to feel extremely welcome, the staff serving were friendly and there was no hesitation when asking for more wine, we were given it immediately without hesitation. The food was appropriate to the occasion, and was excellent, I wouldnt expect silver service in medeval times!!! The horse show was mind blowing, and to perfection, children around us thoroughly enjoyed the "Knights" whilst in battle. To finish, the "Knights" were available to have their photos taken by you and with you, all very humbling. Felt it was the best value for money I have had on a trip. Lucky enought to return to Tenerife 4 times a year and will make sure I go back to the Castillo every time!!!! Keep up the good work "Knights of Castillo San Miguel", you can come to my rescue anytime!!!!
As with all evening trips abroad, you have to expect the transfer times. Yes, and half the time, you are waiting for people who have booked and not turned up! But to their disadvantage, they missed a great show!! Give it a go, and dont be afraid to ask for additional drinks, they are very obliging.
