“Fantastic stay- exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

We have just returned from a great week at Santa Barbara. From the moment we arrived we were impressed. We had a quick and efficient check in, the receptionist noticed it was my partner's birthday during our stay and later that week we came into our room to find a bottle of cava with a happy birthday note (a great touch!). When we entered our room we found a spotless, modern kitchen with every utensil you can imagine even down to a food processor, Tupperware and a juicer! The apartment felt homely but with a good touch of luxury. The beds were extremely comfy with lots of pillows, sheets and a huge duvet! We also had a welcome pack with milk, jam, bread, butter, orange juice, cornflakes and another bottle of cava.

The rest of the accommodation definitely didn't let it down. The pool was lovely and clean if a little cold. The only thing was a slight lack of sunbeds but if you look hard enough you will find some hidden away on one of the many terraces. We ate lunch a few times around the pool and enjoyed the food each time. Happy hour from 4.30-5.30 was an added bonus. In addition, the gym was well equipped and the spa had a sauna and two whirlpools. There was also a terrace bar which had live music most nights from 7-9 and a view of the pools and sea. There was also entertainment each night but we didn't go to this. All the staff were helpful and welcoming at all times.

As for the resort, it was very quiet with little to do, however we found a different restaurant to eat at each night and always had a tasty meal (check out the trip advisor restaurants). There is not a beach but you can get to the sea down a rocky path, However it was too choppy to enter the sea. We hired a car during our stay and visited Siam Park, Loro Park and the volcano Teidi, all of which were excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a newly refurbished room with a view of the sea or pool.

Beautiful apartment with a phenomenal sea view. The pools are lovely, family friendly but also plenty of quieter secluded spots for couples etc. All the staff were lovely and so helpful. The two bars are reasonably priced and the terrace one is particularly nice due to its views. I cannot wait to back!

2nd time here so lots has changed over the years, not far from Tenerife airport so get planes flighing over, but soon get used to it. accommodation was lovely with a patio to eat out/relax. facilities excellent 3 pools/jacuzzi, sunbeds, spa, gym, table tennis, pool table. can only get internet access in reception area at the moment. restaurants/bar on site a bit pricey but they do 2 for 1 nights which we tried and the food was excellent. nearby walk to more reasonable bars/restaurants and decent supermarket. staff on site very helpful. would recommend and hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: rooms on top floor 8 get great views and away from noise and sewer smell near pool area

We have just returned from a lovely week at Santa Barbara, having stayed there last year for a week.
Our apartment was excellent! It was spacious, well located and extremely well equipped with high quality furnishings and kitchen utensils.
The apartment was spotless and was cleaned thoroughly twice whilst we were there with fresh linen and towels.
Enormous bed and lovely Egyptian cotton bedding.
Nice touches; new flat screen televisions in both the living area and in the bedroom, iPod docking stations in the same locations and milk and tea/sugar/coffee left so you can have a cup of something when you first arrive.
Can't fault our stay; will return again!

Family of 3 with 4 y.o daughter.
10 minute drive to the airport which is always a bonus. This does mean you can get low flying aircraft overhead depending on the wind direction, but in low season this is infrequent enough not to be an issue.
Check in/out was curteous, polite and efficient. As were any subsequent dealings with the front desk or concierge.
Apartment (2 bed family) was a good size overall, especially the balcony. The kitchen area was a little small (we ate in so prepared our own meals). Unlike many other Diamond resorts the washing facilities were communal, not an issue but a point to be aware of. The main concern we had was our apartment (315) was directly below the hotel bar (terrace), so chairs scraping etc until midnight on most nights. Again just circumstance, but if you or your children are light sleepers this could get frustrating!
The complex is in a very quiet area so not really preferable for those 20 somethings out to party! Enough restaurant choice in the immediate vicinity for those who like to eat out (with variety) and there is a complex called San Blas 15 minutes walk away which is a nice alternative and has a medium sized 'supermarket' (in it's loosest sense!).
There is a small store on the same road as the complex which is reasonably priced and has slightly more choice than the on site store, which to be fair is decent enough and also well priced. Note that prices for most things are more expensive here than Spain generally so budget accordingly.
The complex has enough to do for most i would guess, quirky little things like a book exchange area work well and the spa has a couple of fantastic, but painful massage chairs at a euro for 5 minutes. Recommended!
We had one meal from the on site restaurant which was well priced and good quality food.
There's also a beach 5 minutes walk to the right of the back entrance of the complex which is a nice alternative to the pool. Volcanic sand though.
The centre piece of the complex is a huge free form pool. Not strictly heated but warm enough in March. Sensibly there is a cordoned off area for inflatables which i was impressed with. Slightly deep at a minimum level of 1.5m's though would be the only criticism (very minor). Lifeguard on duty 9-6pm.
Nice little shallow pool for kids as well.
Theoretically a 'no reserve' policy on sunbeds but not enforced thjat i saw. QED families putting their towels down at 8am and returning at their leisure. As the amount of sunbeds immediately around the pool area is insufficient this was my biggest bugbear of the stay.
Kids club (Creature club) was great and much loved by my daughter. Open from 11-1 & 2-4 every day but Friday, the team in there were highly entertaining (occasionally for the adults too), and my daughter couldn't wait to go back daty after day. All were great, but special mention to Rui and Elena who were exceptional at their job and very nice people as well.
All in all a very good complex which i would highly recommend to all who want a relaxing time away.

This place was very reasonable in price so we were holding our breath a little. No need, after an initial hiccup with a un made room we were off and running. Room large and clean. Service good, facilities great. No problems.

We stayed at Santa Barbara in March for the first time in a couple of years, this time we took our 2 friends, our appt was No. 206 it had everything that you would want, 1 double room 1 twin and it has 4, yes 4 patios !! the sun shone into our rooms and onto the balconies from sunrise until into mid afternoon, the views over the pool and towards the Red mountain were stunning. The staff are all so friendly and helpful . we will return and this time we will not leave so long.
