“Not a good golf course”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

We finished off a 10 day golf holiday with one round on the Amarilla as it was near the airport. To be fair that was and is the only positive point in its favour. I see another review (now), which describes the surrounds as 'Beirut', this is very apt, but only part of the problem. Most annoying was the way on too many fairways that hitting the fairways resulted in the ball being dumped off the fairway into rough areas or barrancas. Next was pedestrians on the course, followed by grass cutters with a death wish. Any other course, sooner or later the cutter will stop, park somewhere vaguely safe and let you play, here they prefer to keep cutting but eventually pause and wave you on even though they're now parked where you would like to hit the ball. Then there are some fairways where the new developments of apartments are way too close to the fairway for safety. Finally the greens are in a very poor condition, think patchwork quilt. We definately wouldn't do this course again even if it was offered free.

“Okay, but needs some attention”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012

A golf factory, offering all you can play packages. We played in 4 hours 20 minutes even with the crowds...they manage the tee times well here. Okay track but needs some routine maintenance on the fairways and the greens. Appears it gets so much play, no time for for the course to recover. Restaurant has a great choice for lunch, particularly the pasta menu. Definitely worth 1 round here.

“A little tired but great views”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2011

Set high on the cliffs above the sea , you can get great views across the ocean. The views inland are less appealing and it is referred to locally as 'Beirut' with half finished developments and scrub surrounding the course itself.
The club house is more of a snack bar and the course is perhaps best suited to those starting golf as the greens & fairways are a bit patchy. Investment in the course and facilities I would think have been kept too a minimum in the last few years , but fine for a bit of fun if you are not too serious about your golf.

“Typically English and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2011

Fairways Club is an excellent resort which is located within a golf course in a tiny village...with it's own shop in walking distance and a stones throw from the coast. There are several bars and restaurants on site well worth visiting especially not forgeting the Premier Bar, Cabaret and Karaoke bar which serves excellent food, this bar was recently recommended in the Tenerife News.

Well worth a visit
