We finished off a 10 day golf holiday with one round on the Amarilla as it was near the airport. To be fair that was and is the only positive point in its favour. I see another review (now), which describes the surrounds as 'Beirut', this is very apt, but only part of the problem. Most annoying was the way on too many fairways that hitting the fairways resulted in the ball being dumped off the fairway into rough areas or barrancas. Next was pedestrians on the course, followed by grass cutters with a death wish. Any other course, sooner or later the cutter will stop, park somewhere vaguely safe and let you play, here they prefer to keep cutting but eventually pause and wave you on even though they're now parked where you would like to hit the ball. Then there are some fairways where the new developments of apartments are way too close to the fairway for safety. Finally the greens are in a very poor condition, think patchwork quilt. We definately wouldn't do this course again even if it was offered free.
