Fabulous hotel, excellent location, facilities and lovely staff. Booked 2 interconnecting rooms as needed a seperate room for our teenage daughter and what an amazing surprise we got! Two beautiful luxury rooms, both with double beds, wide screen tvs and one with double jacuzzi bath, who could ask for more. Excellent welcome with glass of cava and porter service to rooms. First time we had booked all inclusive and I think this hotel may have spoilt us for others. Choice and quality of food fantastic! Most drinks were included, but those that weren't (brand names) were half price to all inclusive guests till 11.30pm. This was our 3rd year to Amadores, but first year at this hotel and would definitely recommend and return before going anywhere else in area. Most of the staff were lovely, 2 in particular (Alex and Phillip from the bar), a couple of the senior staff needed a personality transplant - Mr Bean (you'll know who I mean when you see him). Alex looked after us every night in the bar bringing a never ending supply of peanuts and popcorn. All areas of the hotel were spotless and impressive. Sunsets in the evening from the terrace were gorgeous. Used the get in shape pool with a friend that we met there and it was so relaxing and well worth the 18 euros. The hotel seems to be a training hotel with reception staff and amimation team on 6 month placements and although not always up to speed we found the ones we did speak to very friendly. If you're thinking of going to Amadores go to GLORIA PALACE and say hi to Alex and Phillip for us!

We've just returned from the Gloria Palace (4th July) and I have to agree with lots of reviews on this hotel, it's fantastic. We arrived at 10pm on a saturday night and were met with champagne while we waited to check in. The room was huge, even though we had the sofa converted to a bed for our daughter - still loads of space. Amazing views over the atlantic ocean from our room on floor 6 - 2nd from bottom!
The hotel is between amadores and puerto rico but the walk to amadores is a little longer and more uphill. Only 5 minutes from the panoramic lift to the port at puerto rico. We were on bed and breakfast so can only comment on breakfast. Food was excellent, a huge variety to suit all tastes and the dining room overlooking the coast too. We ate out at night with a big variety of restaurants in puerto rico. The resort was quieter than normal for the time of year (recession) so a bit of hassle from restaurants trying to drag you in, but they were only trying to get business. I'd recommend Oscars on the seafront but it's very busy while others were empty - a good sign !!
The staff at hotel were very pleasant and efficient (with exception of very rude bar man at the pool snack bar). The hotel is spotless and I would certainly consider returning to it.

Stayed here for a week in late June 09 after getting a fantastic deal from Sunway and on the recommendation of family who have stayed here before. This really is a fantastic hotel!! The hotel lobby contains a few small shops and a chemist, You can get the usual english papers here but you need to get down early as they only stock a few each morning. Check in was quick and it was nice to be given a glass of orange juice or cava while checking in. The rooms are very spacious with each room having an ocean view. I would agree with previous reviews though that the couches and chairs in the room are worn and need changing. The bathroom is small in comparison to the hotel room but adequate and well decorated. The buffet breakfast is excellent with something for everyone but the breakfast room (despite being huge) gets a bit crowded between 930 and 10am. Both pools are excellent with more than enough sun beds and space. The food in the upper pool snack bar is average but adequate.There is always some form of entertainment going on in the hotel be it the aqua aerobics in the pool every morning, aerobics, archery, rifle shooting. The entertainment in the evening is also excellent, the hypnosis show was very entertaining (except for the cabaret show provided by the staff, sorry guys!!). The entertainment finishes promptly at 11:30 every night which is a bit too early in my opinion. The Thallassoterapia centre is excellent and the 'get in shape' pool here was a favourite of ours. Make sure you take the tour of the therapy centre as they give you money off vouchers at the end and you can also receive a further % off if you mention you have come through your particular tour operator. The gym also was excellent and free between 1&2. The hotel is located between amadores and puerto rico beach and it takes roughly 5 minutes to walk to each from the hotel. The trek to the puerto rico commercial centre is a bit longer though but a cab only costs €3. The prices in the bar are a wee bit more expensive than puerto rico e.g. €4.95 for a long neck magners. This hotel made our holiday as the puerto rico commercial centre is a bit tacky and with people trying to drag you into bars and restaurants it can become a bit annoying. The only tiny miniscule complaint I could have about the hotel is the service in the bar. Even with only a few people at the bar you could end up waiting a while to get served but dont let that put you off!!
