Well this hotel is starting to do up the rooms, the food has improved and the ALL INCLUSIVE you can drink whatever you want which is very good as of before you had to drink local drinks. The staff are great and this hotel is at its best.I stayed a week in May and it was so good i went back in June.I use Slattery travel, here in Ireland the owners name is David (01) 517 5990 and he sorted out private taxi transfers from the airport and on return all from under 1k including the ALL INCLUSIVE.

Room Tip: ask for one with carpet as there the rooms that are renovated

I have reviewed this hotel before and have rate it as a 5 before. If there was a 6 this year it would get it. We love this hotel for its outstanding location and stunning views of the sunset from your balcony, its very friendly and helpful staff and its facilities. The food is terrific with enough choice both at the buffets and the grills to satisfy everyone and you are never waiting long for a table. Improvements for this year are terrazza dining at all three meals [you may have to wait a few moments as it is very popular to eat either in the sun or the starlight] and the inclusion of premium brands on the all inclusive menu. The all inclusive is highly recommended as the drinks are expensive and the service of the all inclusive is as for the non all inclusive. We are not alone in our opinion of the hotel as we meet the same people year after year and the first timers can't wait to come back again. Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms have spectacular views except a row of luxury rooms along the pool so you will never get a...

I have been to Gloria Palace on several occasions over the years the last time was about 4 years ago and we had a great stay that is why I returned in September 2013 with two good friends for a week's break. The hotel was still very much the same with large rooms and lovely pool area, swimming pool over looking sea, amazing views BUT we could not believe how the hotel food and drink had changed. Every alcoholic drink tasted watered down, their cocktails were a joke they tasted like non alcoholic cocktails, and the house wine was awful so every evening we paid for a bottle of wine from the non-all-inclusive list. The food was very bland and boring - cold brussel spouts for breakfast!! Sorry I will not be returning or will I recommend this hotel to anyone else.

Room Tip: Try to get a lower room as the lifts were really confusing and slow

This has to be one the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The views from the room were just breath-taking. The rooms were enormous and although the balcony we had was not large enough to accommodation 2 sun-loungers like some of the other rooms it was still big enough to sit and relax while taking in the atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent with plenty of choice even for the fussy eater.
The hotel has 2 large swimming pools 1 close to the childrens play area and the other being the opposite end of the 2 large terraces which is ideal for people who don't particularly want to have children running around them all day.
We are already looking to go again we enjoyed it that much

I absolutely loved staying here, the views from our hotel room felt like the best on he Island, and the pools were massive and breathtaking to view the sea whilst swimming! The food is good and plentiful- we were on half board so got our breakfast and dinner included. We were on a budget and had to get our own lunch, but with the plentiful supply of food at breakfast we took some rolls and meat/cheese and made up sandwiches for lunch! Yummy. If not on all inclusive I would recommend not buying drinks from the bars as they are expensive- so instead we just got supplies from the shop in Puerto Rico and stocked up the fridge in out room! 8.50 for a big bottle of rum which lasted the whole holiday! We didn't use the spa because of the additional cost (was quite disappointed that the gym cost 8 euros) but the aqua gym was good and was on every day. The hotel is so clean no complaints there, and the beds are comfortable. The tv has uk channels- bonus for night time when you want to chill. The entertainment provided was hit and miss- the flamenco was good but the other acts were a bit boring. Don't like how they used parrots in one of their shows- bit cruel using animals that way. The bar salon was huge and a bit like being on a cruise ship, very impressive building. There is a lift down to the pavilion walk way so easy to walk to amadores/ Puerto Rico. I have been to gran canaria about 5 times and what a shame about Puerto Rico it has really gone downhill (looks very tacky) and the water park Atlantis has been closed and left to rot which was very disappointing. so won't be coming back to Puerto Rico again- wish the hotel was somewhere else because I would love to return to the hotel!

Girls trip in September was spent in Gloria Palace Amadores T&H. First look at the hotel at the arrival was impressive and we were looking forward to spending following 7 days at the hotel.

EXTRA FEES
When checking in we got information about many different things as that there was the additional feel next to the diposit for both the safe and pool/beach towels. Safe usage was charged per day, towels change had also additonal fee per time you get new towel and there is a fee for use of the gym for training. Between 1PM and 3PM it is for free, but both aerobic, streching and aquagym are offered between 11AM and 1P and in period between 1PM and 3PM the lunch is served.

After checking in we hurried to change and get to the pool, but then we experienced that the toilet was not flushing. We reported it and sometime during the afternoon it got sort of fixed (it still was not flushing as we are used to, but it was functional). During this first afternoon we were not all inclusive guests because we thought the hotel was in the Puerto Rico city and that we would have dinners in the city. But the hotel is not in the city, so first afternoon we decided to chill by the pool and eat at the hotel. Then we experienced that even for us Norwegians the prices are really stiff. Two of us spent approximately 100 euroes for couple of bottles of water, two coctails, two really bad tasting tiny pizza at the snack bar and paying for the safe for the whole stay. All ready at the evening we decided to become all inclusive guests and this was fixed the same evening. But even after becoming all inclusive all the fees for safe, towels and training at the gym and any of the spa treatments were additional. We did get an offer for one day of the stay where the gym was for free whole day and usage of the "get in shape pool" was half price.

POOR SERVICE
The first 2-3 days we also got the impression that it is kind of end of the turist season or something and that the staff at the hotel is tired and fed up of guests. Couple of times we experienced that the plates were taken away before we finished actually eating (but were holding fork and knife and chatting between two mouthfulls). Many times the glasses, forks, knifes or plates were dirty. By one occasion I asked for the new glass, the waitor looked at the one I complained about and said she did not see that the glass was dirty. She gave me a new glass, but with the grumpy expression on her face... We also experienced that regardless whom we had to talk to (receptionists or bartenders) the first thing that met us, was "Please wait a second" and this was regardless of if there was a line or not. We also tried to order drinks couple of times in the evening, but then we were told to talk to "my colleague" without any more information of whom this right colleague was. It was first after couple of days that we understod that there are only couple of the stuff taking orders for drinks while all the rest of stuff is either cleaning or bringing drinks.

ALL INCLUSIVE REQUIRES USE OF CARDS AND WRIST BANDS
We also had to (even when being all inclusive) give our card every single time we were getting drinks either at the bar next to the pool or at lunch or at the dinner. We did not understand at all why we had to do this when all of the guests with all inclusive were wearing wrist band showing we were all inclusive. There were also problems with cards which caused lines by the bar or when ordering the drinks.

OPINION FORMS CHANGED BEHAVIOR?
In the middle of our stay we were asked to fill out the forms where we were asked about the opinion of the hotel. The forms required the name, contact info, room number, date for the stay and so on. We wrote all the things that we also wrote here and from the day after the forms were filled out things it looked that some things did change. The staff were friendlier(at least towards two of us). We were asked every time before the plates disappeared from the table and there was no more "Please wait a second."

CONCLUSION
Earlier this year I spend a week in Turkey, also with all inclusive at the new exclusive hotel. Stay in Turkey compaired to the stay in Turkey was really disappointing. It is nice if actually filling out the form did coused that things did change, but it should not be necessary. Fascilities and services are of poor quality comparing to the price you pay for staying at this hotel.

What a beautiful hotel.Rooms are large and spotless with air conditioning .The beds are comfy and a phone call to reception got us more pillows in 5 mins flat! The safe is 5 euro deposit and it cost around 18 euro for the week.Towels are available to hire for the pool with a ten euro deposit and 50 cent each time you change them.
We checked in around 9 pm and just made dinner in the dining room. The food was lovely especially the pizza! All inclusive is well worth it.The choice of food and drink included covers everything you could want and if you got bored you are very fussy indeed.
The pools were so clean and lots of sun loungers and umbrellas for everyone.
The staff are amazing in particular Marta in the lobby bar and the gentleman who runs the outside area in the restaurant. The view is beautiful and we only ever waited two minutes for a table.try to be there to see the sunset.

We didn't receive a drink at check in or a bottle of bubbly in our room .maybe they are for return guests, Which we will be next year!
The walk to Amadores beach takes ten minutes at a stroll and puerto rico is a three minute walk in the other direction.
Go on the boat trip to Mogan on fridays for the market.ten euro each way but go early as it gets very busy.
