This was our third visit within 12 months. That must say something onits own ! The rooms are superb, very large , superb views and very quiet. Food is varied and excellent . Evening entertainment is very good and varied. A superb place for a relaxing break. Also , lovely wlks along the sea front to walk off some of the food and drink.

Room Tip: no way i want to keep this a secret

On your list of things to do before you die add a week's holiday at Gloria Palace. It really is that good,
We have just returned from a week's stay at Gloria Palace and it is assured that we will be going back again. This must have been the sixth or seventh time we have visited and it is still our
number once choice.
While you check in you are served with a glass of Champaign or other drink and as regular customers where was a display of fruit and a bottle of Champaign in an ice bucket waiting in our room with the manager's compliments.
This is typical of the hotel. They made you feel so special and nothing is too much trouble.
The rooms all have wonderful sea views. There are four blocks of room. If you like peace and quiet go for the lower two blocks: three or four. If you don't mind over looking the pools, music and acticties then blocks one and two are for you. We always Email them about two weeks before our holiday to ask for a room on our favourite floor and they always so there best to please us.
The rooms are large and have everything you might need. The televisions in rooms also have BBC and ITV so you won't miss your favourite shows back home.
The restaurant is superb and the staff and service is second to none. We always go all inclusive, but some people on half board did say the bar prices were high. I am a veggie and the choice of foods for me was excellent. My husband is a carnivore and loved the steaks choices of other freshly cooked meats.
The waiter service in the bars and theatre is excellent and despite being busy some nights there was only a few minutes to wait for your drink to be brought to the table after ordering it. We did notice that cocktails were no longer on the all-inclusive list, but that was no real problem.
Yes, we will go back next year.

Jusr back from an 11 night stay in Gloria Palace Amadores. We had a wonderful holiday. The staff are excellent from the moment you arrive til the moment you leave. Dont be too disappointed if you dont get the complimentary bottle of fizz in your room as its not very nice. Ours didnt arrive but another couple were with us for my 60th birthday and they got it which is how I know :-)

On the morning of my birthday a complimentary bottle of champagne was brought to my table on the terrace for breakfast. This champagne was good.

Rooms:-

We stayed in block 2 on floor 4. We had room 2401a which is a corner room with optional adjoining room for families. Its a fine size room, or so we thought till we saw our friends room 2402 which is enormous. it was so big it had a 2-seater sofa and 2 armchairs and coffee table and his and hers bathroom sinks and bath\shower. Our room had one armchair and one sink. We had a sea view albeit from the corner. This floor is superb as we were right beside the upper level pool. Rooms are cleaned daily, some days better than others. We asked to have our room well cleaned one day and it was beautifully done. Shower head came loose and was fixed next day. Basic toiletries are supplied. Sachets of bath\shower gel, shampoo, little soap bars, shower cap, shoe shiner. No conditioner. Very handy if you dont want to carry heavy toiletries in your luggage. There is a kettle with tea, coffee, decaff coffee and little tubs of milk replenished every day. We asked for 2 extra pillows and they arrived immediately.

Pool:-
The upper level pool area is relaxing and quiet while the lower one has alot of activities and games and stuff going on so its fairly noisy. There seemed to be, in general, a younger crowd at the lower level pool and older at the upper but no 'young and lively' as the brochures say. The upper pool has a special chair which lowers into the water for people who need assistance. Both pools are literally at the edge of the building with a glass screen in front. The view is spectacular from both pools. We watched divers surfacing in the sea below. The sunset is magnificent from here. The usual nonsense of booking sun loungers happens especially right at the edge but some do it with the cushions and others with towels. Just take a bed which has a cushion because the pool attendant puts these out sometimes. Our rule is if someone has put a towel on a bed and has not arrived within an hour the towel is folded on a bed beside it. Its a selfish habit which management could put notices up about. Pool towels are supplied by the hotel - 10 euro deposit and 50 cent every time you change it. There is a fashion show every Thurs at upper pool which is fun.

Spa:-
Not good. Had a massage which was very weak. Got hair cut and it seemed the hairstylist had limited training. Not a good experience.

Restaurants:-
The main restaurants serve a variety of food each evening. Spanish, Scandinavian, Chinese, British to name but a few. There is a great selection to choose from. Breakfasts are good. Find a table on the terrace to dine as inside can be quite noisy with plates clattering and the lighting is very bright. We stayed half board. We had our lunch in Puerto Rico or Amadores. The lunches at the pool bar are ok but not exciting.

Location-
Wonderful location. The scary lift (for me who is afraid of heights) is brilliant. I stood by the door, otherwise stand out at front and look at the view. It brings you down to a cave bar then a short walk 30 seconds) to another lift which goes to road level. Turn left for Puerto Rico 10 mins or right for Amadores 10 mins. Loads of restaurants at both locations. At Amadores take a stroll on the beach and cross over the rocks uphill then you,ll see a little bar\restaurant at Tauro. Have refreshments there, its off the beaten track.

I would go back to this hotel without hesitation.

Room Tip: We stayed in block 2, 4th floor. Room 2401a. Nice room but half the size of room 2402. Its an...

Stayed here for a week in October and had a good stay. Had adjoining rooms and lovely view out to sea and maid cleaned rooms well. Kids disco was very popular and lots of entertainment staff during the day. Food quality started out very high but sadly it deteriorated over the week. Good location to walk to Amadores or Puerto Rico beaches. Pool bar service is slow - staff were faster at serving non-all inclusive guests then all inclusive guests. Good Wi-Fi service in reception which can also be picked up by the pool.

Just back from another great stay at this lovely hotel.

Weather was lovely and warm by day (mid 20's) and about 18 degrees at night.
The hotel is set between Amadores and Puerto Rico beaches. Walking distance to both approx 10 mins.
The hotel consists of 4 blocks with blocks 1 and 2 being higher up (but ask for a mid to high floor room to guarantee a clear view of the sea) as these blocks overlook the swimming pool areas.
Blocks 3 and 4 are lower down but all rooms have sea views. Possibly ask for a higher floor to be closer to the hotel facilities and further away from the road.

Food is still very good with plenty of choice.
Drinks-great choice. We were all inclusive which I would advise if possible to do. The A.I finished at 2330 but by this time you have had many hours to have your fill.
A real mixture of nationalities staying at the hotel. Food and drinks designed to suit all.

The one thing that I have noticed this year compared to previous years was the great attitude of the vast majority of the staff. From when we arrived at reception to checking out at the end I can honestly say that I came across some exceptionally high levels of customer service. Special mentions to Carlos in the bar by reception, Rosario in the restaurant and Patricia who worked in both the restaurant and the pool snack bar area. The staff that I came into contact with from day 1 had a real can do attitude with a high level of friendliness and politeness.

The entertainment that seemed fairly popular with a real mixture. I watched the three tenors show which was very good. Looked in for a few of the other shows on our way through and they seemed ok but not really my cup of tea (Flamenco Ballet etc....)

I can easily recommend this hotel. My top tips would be to stay all inclusive ideally for 10 or 14 nights. Ask for a room in block 3 or 4 high floor room. Try to avoid the busiest times in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner. Lunch in the restaurant was quieter as many ate by the pool at the snack bar and not all guests are entitled to lunch due to the package they were on. Also many headed out for the day.

This is a top quality hotel where the staff really do want you to have a good time and are interested in making sure that you are. Expect reception to call you on your first couple of days to check that everything is fine and you have no issues. If you have any problems or are unhappy with anything, don't hesitate to speak with a member of staff and I'm confident that they will sort out any issues you have. In all areas there are staff then next grade "Sector Jefe's" which are supervisors of the area (they wear brown) then you will see the management in suits keeping a close eye that all is running smooth.

Already planning our next trip back to this hotel.

Enjoy.

Room Tip: High floor will guarantee a sea view

My wife had booked a week's holiday on a half board basis commencing 24 November 2012; expecting a sea view room as advertised,,,,,,,,,, my wife had been there previously & it was not specifically booked. When we arrived we were advised that a sea-view room was not available,,,,,,,,, and we were offered alternative accommodation with a sea-view; which we accepted.
It transpired that there were at least 8 couples in a similar situation to ourselves,,,,who were bumped onto alternative accommodation. I have since established that this kind of thing happens too often at this hotel. The same thing happened to an acquaintance of mine on 3 separate occasions; the latest being earlier this year.
