After reading many good reviews about the Nido we decided to book a week here. Whilst i have no problem with the rooms, the cleanliness, the location or the staff, I am sadend to report that the hotel did fundamentally fail on many levels. Firstly there was no air conditioning as promised, as we stayed during the middle of the recent heat wave this was much needed to cool off, instead to get cool I had to sit in a cold bath of the evenings. Secondly even though there were signs up about not reserving the sun loungers come 6 or 7am, all the loungers had towels on, so we couldn't sit buy the pool for much of the holiday. Whilst the breakfast was great, there was very little choice of food for lunch, and the evening meals left a lot to be disired. One of the reasons we chose this hotel is because there was supposed to be a lot of veggie options, and as my partner is a veggie this was ideal for us, however salad does not constitue a lot of veggie options, and the meat options were not great, no labels on anything, so I couldnt really tell what there was. Luckily there were quite a few resturants and a really great bar (The Barbacoa) in the local area. We were promised entertainement however a CD playing in the brackground does not constitue entertainment. As for the all inclusive, well lets just say there were a lot of exclusions. Unfortunatley I felt this hotel was trying to keep up with the Jones's in trying to be all inclusive, where in reality this hotel is better suited to bed and breakfast, or a self catering (as all the equipment is provided) base of operattions, as there is plenty to see and do in the local area. Luckily these few minor erks did not spoil what was generally a good holiday.
Ask for a room on the second floor, and close to the outer edges for the best views.
