We booked this holiday as a very late deal in May. We were on the top floor which was great as your balcony is not overlooked by anyone, the one's lower down can be seen from above. There were 2 of us and the apartment was more than big enough however I think 4 adults would find it a bit squashed. The balcony was great and once the sun shone on it (around lunchtime) then it was a complete sun trap and got very hot. The pool area was quite small and a lot of people did the old trick of putting towels on sun loungers, it also seemed to get quite slippy - I saw a couple of small children fall over so be careful!
The bar area was pleasant, they offered snacks and ice-creams.
The staff were pleasent and the apartments were kept clean and tidy.
The beach was about a 10 minute walk away and the shopping centre about 5 minutes away. We weren't as keen on the shopping centre as a location to eat, to many english & Irish themed bars, we prefered the restaurants down by the harbour.
The beach was very sheltered so no strong waves, we also took the ferry to Puerto Mogan - definately worth a trip only a few euros and a lovely place to visit - beautiful harbour and buildings and it also has a lovely beach.
As a resort Puerto Rico is quite hilly and there are a lot of steps everywhere especially up to the areas where the apartments are, I think there were 60 or 70 steps to the Cala Nova without the ones needed to get to the top floor although they did have a lift.
Overall the apartments were fine and in a good location, the beach and harbour area were lovely however for me the shopping centre was a bit too much 'Brits Abroad' - I can imagine that in the height of summer it would be very busy and there would be a lot of football shirts about!
