we have stayed in five star hotels in carribean and scummy apartments in greece so we didnt know what to expect but we had a an amazing holiday here,it was kept really clean the maid even did our dirty breakfast pots we'd lazily left in the sink.i cant say enough about how great of a time we had here and would definately go back.

Great place to go, went here 14 years ago with my wife and have been many time since with family and friends. Self catering and no frills but fine for a cheapy short stay. Has a small bar and some food is available.

Good base for a sun, sea, sand and sangria holiday.

The entertainment has always been reasonably good in the evenings and the view from the balcony is stunning, just like many other hotels around the area.

The pool is always clean and tidy and although people get up early for best places for sun beds, there are many others and lots of space.

Me and my youngest son and husband stayed at the cala d' or from the 8th may to the 11th may and it's just a fantastic apartments. we stayed on the first floor above the pool , and cple steps up from main reception. i Have stayed in puerto rico for many of years and always go back. Cala d' or is the first time we stayed and found them spotless, family friendly, and lots of laughs , but you have quite time also. Lyndsey (linz) is top quality rep , lovely chats with her she played pool with my son nearly every day if she wasn't busy.. top girl. Jamie the entertainer just cracked me up , he really does have time for children ( and adults) I cannot fault the staff at all, very entertaining also.! I really liked this apartments as everyone from scotland like me, to England (friends we made) to welsh ( friends we made) spanish ( friends we made) see where i am going? Theres great entertainment on.. and jamie really does go out his way to please everyone...! if people complain about the steps in puerto rico , why havent nobody looked it up before they go? It clearly tells you.. really dont understand that. well thats about it. I am now in the process of renting long lease at the cala d' or .. so hopefully i will see you all there in the near future. My husband and I stayed here mid January.
I had used this site for info before I booked the holiday so there were no surprises and it was as expected.
We had a room in block C (in front of the main part of the hotel). This had some advantages and disadvantages. You could sit on the balcony in the evening and watch the sun go down and when in the room you couldn't hear the music from round the pool in the evening. However, in the bedroom you could hear clear conversations from people on the balcony behind. Also my husband woke at 3.00 am once thinking next door had put music on, when it was in fact from a bar in the valley!
I wear earplugs anyway so wasn't affected, but it is something to bear in mind when staying here.
The entertainment was essentially good but we had come to recharge batteries and relax so didn't really participate.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and I think the hotel was in a good position in the resort.
All the staff were friendly - the evening barman was a little mad but funny.
The local beer in the bar was 2 euros a pint which I thought was good value in a hotel and wasn't bad to drink either.
We paid for the in-room safe which was 14 euros for the week - again, I don't think that's bad at all.
This hotel is perfect if, like us, you want somewhere quite cheap but clean to relax, unwind and get a bit of winter sun.
