“A little slice of heaven away from it all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

I almost feel wrong giving Villa Le Barone an excellent rating for two reasons: 1) Excellent is a poor choice for the outstanding beauty and service of the hotel. There ought to be a rating 2 to 3 levels higher which would match how honored we felt to be guests of this wonderful hotel. 2) I'd almost rather the hotel would remain unnoticed, unspoiled, by too much traffic. Ahhh, but it is not to be. [smile]

Villa Le Barone is an escape from everything. The rooms are wonderfully appointed, the staff is terrific, and the food is spectacular. But what really gets you going are the views. Standing out on a side road to the hotel or standing out by the pool and looking over the beautiful valleys coated with vineyards, one simply lets all the world's troubles melt away. This is where you go to relax. Because the hotel is small, you feel everyone there is a friend.

We really did not want to leave. Thank you so much for a wonderful week.

Dear Tim K,
what can I say? I am overwhelmed by your review and overjoyed that you have been so happy at Villa le Barone. Yes, the site and the landscape around it are beautiful and one never tires of letting one's eyes wander on the hills and valleys around it. My wife and I have been in Le Barone for a while, have travelled the world widely, but when we get back to Le Barone we have the same impression of beauty and serenity that we try our best to share with our Guests.

I am afraid we are not as perfect as you kindly say ... but we try our best and our friendship and that of our staff is genuine and sincere!

We look forward to having you and your friends back with us soon,

Corso and Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel

From the moment we started corresponding with the Villa Le Barone, we felt like family. Every meal was wonderful...and because it is a small hotel, we felt like we were dining with friends. The staff could not have been more helpful with recommendations for day trips, restaurants, routes, etc. Our rooms were lovely...the whole hotel is lovely. Be sure to book dinners at the hotel. It was like going to a party every night! We hated to leave. The lovely thing is, we all felt like we had made new friends at the wonderful Villa Le Barone. I recommend this hotel highly.

Room Tip: Try to arrange your trip so that you arrive during the daylight. The Tuscan roads meander up and do...

Dear MMBOSTON4511,
many thanks for your comments on Villa le Barone. You are right, several of our Guests get to know each other, sympathize and quite often book for the same period for the year after. Peace, beauty, serenity, good food and a bottle of Chianti make us all (Guests and Staff) happy and eager to make friends and be helpful ... and nice things happen to nice people.
We look very much forward to seeing you again next year,

Our trip to Italy was magical and capped off with our stay at Villa Le Barone in Panzano
The setting was from a scene from Under the Tuscan sun and the room made you feel like you had grown up in Tuscany.
We had breakfast and dinner at the Villa which was another reason to stay here as the meals were very authentic Italian dishes.
The owners could not have been more hospitable and we will return

Room Tip: The room on the third floor was magical

Dear Guando,
many thanks for your kind review of your stay at Villa le Barone. My wife and I are very happy you enjoyed it. Even today November 8, as I write and look out of the window, the sun is shining on the hills, the vines and the olive groves ... and it's gorgeous.
Next time you come to Villa le Barone, book a cooking lesson ... this will make you discover how easy and tasty Tuscan recipes are ... as long as you use top fresh in season products as we do in our restaurant.
Sincerely,
Corso and Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel

My wife and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Villa Le Barone and it knocked our socks off. The surroundings were gorgeous with beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards displayed in all our windows. The food was fantastic with a large free breakfast buffet to start your day on the right foot. For dinner they offered a huge spread of appetisers, cheeses, salads and other delights, followed by two courses and desert. Ask about their dinner special for 29 euros which saves you about 17 euros per night by commiting to eating at the Villa each night of your stay. They never repeat their meals and the food is to die for. Our mini suite was very quiet, we had full control of the air conditioning, and the million dollar view made the stay most enjoyable and I recommend the location to anyone. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Jr. Suite #26, but my guess is all the rooms would be great.

Dear Kenl99,
thank you very much for your enthusiastic review and, again, a happy anniversary! I am glad we "knocked your socks off ! ". All we want is to please our Guests with their stay in our our place.

Thank you also for your comments on food served at Villa le Barone (fresh, local and typically Tuscan). Just one comment: we offer a very attractive price on our Half Board offering in order to know how many dinners we are going to serve, better plan our resources and avoid wasting food. On the other hand, we do not oblige our Guests to dine all nights at Villa le Barone and we just ask them to tell us in advance which nights they are going to dine at the Villa (very attractive price) and which nights they are going to eat outside ... and if they change minds at the last minute (our Guests are on holidays and we are Italians!) we try our best to be flexible and accomodate everyone!
On rooms, you are right: every room at Villa le Barone is nice, but some are smaller, some bigger, some more economic, some are pricier, some have a better view .... so, when you make a reservation, it's better to ask what your wish is.
We look very much forward to seeing you again in Villa le Barone without waiting for the 50th anniversary!
Sincerely,
Corso Aloisi de Larderel

This is a place lost in the Tuscan countryside, on top of a remote mountain, ruled by a count and countess. This is a great place to spend some time to immerse yourself in the Tuscan landscape, eat real Tuscan food, drink local Chianti and enjoy the fact that you are alive. And you can hope you have the opportunity to be charmed by your hosts, the Count and Countess Aloisi de Larderal.

Dear Br00klynB,
thank you for having come to Villa le Barone. I am glad that you have felt as we do ourselves everyday: immersed in an environment of beauty and serenity. Behind the scene, though, Villa le Barone's team is active in making your stay the best they can: the cooks preparing their good specialties, the maids tidying up the rooms and common areas, the gardeners running around and weeding, the reception young ladies greeting you, answering your questions, trying to fullfil your wishes and - when the sad time has come - saying good bye to you. My wife and I often wander around Villa le Barone and are always very happy to greet back old guests and meet new ones.
All the best,
Corso Aloisi de Larderel

My husband and I stayed in room 26 (over the restaurant) in late July this year. It had the most amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. The Villa is conveniently located and while staying there we traveled to Sienna, to Radda, to Greve, and even followed the Itinerary No.2 recommended by the Villa. This started out on a rather rocky road but wound around various villages and castles. We managed to stop at several places to taste wine and take in the view. The staff at the Villa were friendly and professional. We enjoyed breakfast every day and had dinner there one evening. The food was very good. What a magical place to stay. When I return to Tuscany, I will stay at Villa Le Barone.

Dear DreManning,
my wife and I are very happy you had a good stay in Villa le Barone. Room 26 has a beautiful view on the valley and the vines towards the south of the Villa. Thank you for giving the tip to use the itineraries that we supply (free of charge at our Reception) to our Guests in order for them to discover Tuscany "off the beaten tracks": with these itineraries you are going to see beautiful landscapes, tiny classical villages, a wood populated by modern art in the middle of nowhere, hospitabel wineries ... and if you get a bit lost you are going to discover much more on your own. We hope to see you soon back in Villa le Barone.
Sincerely,
Corso Aloisi de Larderel

We stayed here with a group hiking through Tuscany for two nights. This old property is a gem in the countryside. The property is so beautiful - the views of the countryside, the pool and rose gardens are wonderful. The on site restaurant has excellent food and wine - a great selection of Super Tuscans! The various common / sitting areas make it a wonderful place to unwind. We really enjoyed our stay.
