“Tasteful and convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

The Covo is a few blocks away from the main street and square, allowing an easy walk to and from town, yet blissfully removed from the urban noise. The lobby is tastefully arranged; the dining restaurant has excellent food. The rooms are modern, well-equipped, and with state-of-the-art bathrooms. Nice place to use as a base for day excursions throughout Puglia.

Room Tip: Ignore your G{S navigator: the directions most of them provide will deliver you to impossibly tiny s...

We were booked here with a group and found that we got good treatiment by the staff. The room was tiny, with no drawer space to put things away and no place to put an open suitcase. The bathroom was large but the shower was barely large enough for an average sized individual to use without banging elbows. The dinners that were provided by the hotel for our group were excellent. However, the breakfast was poor. I give the hotel a "very good" rating only because of its charming location and views and convenience to the quaint old town setting.

Room Tip: Spend thhe extra money for one of the suites. I'm sure the group got the least good rooms.

Travel in the off-season has its advantages. One place we enjoyed was this hotel. The room was spaceous, clean and comfortable, but a bit dark in winter. The view from the room's terrace to the grotto below was stunning. Arab influenced architecture in parts of Puglia is very different from that in the more typical places American's tend to visit. It is hard to tell what the experience would be here in the summer. The staff was helpful if not abundant. The restaurant was verygood.

This is likely the best hotel right now in Polignano, and it is in a great spot. We had nice rooms with really good terraces, but the rooms and bathrooms were a bit small and cramped.
The restaurant is good, and I would stay here again. Wifi was expensive and a pain to use.

While the hotel is wonderful, has large rooms, and has a large breakfast, it is overpriced given the lack of service, lack of help, and lack of hotel services. It is also very dated. It has a wonderful location (just over the sea), and has some wonderful staff. Although, there are several who are rather stiff and can not answer questions the should be rather simply answered.

The room is large (largest we had in all of Italy). It was quiet and had a full view of the sea. Given that it was the end of the season, it was a fabulous room.

The hotel is in an excellent location in this beautiful, laid back, relaxing Italian beach town. Our room was simple, clean and nice...no major frills! You will be able to walk to everything. The beach is a rocky tiny inlet...we had to purchase towels and mats once we arrived. Breakfast was great! Do not hesitate to book a room here...we had a great long weekend!!! We flew into Bari, rented a car was arrived withing 30 minutes. You will not find a ton of tourists--which we liked! The restaurant in the hotel was awesome...we had a fabulous meal and enjoyed walking to get coffee and pastries each day.
