“We should have stayed there all the time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

This place is simply lovely! Domenico is the friendliest person on earth and he makes the best cakes in Italy which will be your breakfast, if you stay there, with a great view on the see. We only stayed 3 nights, it obviously wasn't enough. We visited other cities as well, but liked Polignano the most by far, which was partly due to this wonderful B&B. I dare to say it was the best in Italy we had so far. Absolutely recommended.

I visited Santo Stefano for 3 nights, as a break away and to explore lesser-visited parts of italy. All I can say is it is a lovely little b&b with a fantastic couple who run it catering for your every need.

The breakfast is superb, lots of choice including homemade cakes (the lemon ricotta one is to die for) and able to be eaten on a little terrace overlooking the most amazing view of the sea. Amongst the old town, it is an easy walk to the newer part of town and the train station. Be aware that, like lots of European towns, polignano does tend to shut down between 3 and 7pm!

A perfect place for a relaxing stay.

There is no other way to describe it, but pure excellence. It is a perfect place to spend ones’ vacation in Polignano A Mare. The people at this B&B were exceptional. Their superb service was certainly an invitation to return in the future. Dominico’s attentiveness, politeness, and knowledge were endless. His staff is also a great complement to the outstanding service at B&B Santo Stefano. Breakfast included seasonal fruits, pastries, cheese, bread, tea, coffee, prosciutto, juices, etc…All our rooms were immaculate and the staff made sure to care for the rooms every morning or whenever we left the room. Our front views of the Adriatic Sea and the Sunsets behind us were fantastic. There is so much that cannot be experienced unless a person spend few days at this place. I have attached few pictures as well to contribute to my description of this amazing vacation at the B&B Santo Stefano and surrounding town.

Room Tip: My favorite room was the top room right below the dining area. It is a great room if the person doe...

Previous reviews are on target. Beautiful location, comfortable lodgings and exemplary service! Dominico was great rescuing us after the train by passed our station and then throughout our four day stay. Breakfast on the roof patio was a great way to kick off each morning. Great dinner and tour advice provided. Monica was excellent to work with making arrangements and very prompt with answers to all questions.

We really enjoyed Polignano. Will definitely stay at Santo Stefano B&B if our travels take us back to Apuglia.

Room Tip: Our room had its own terrace on a roof slightly below the main dining area. Gave us nice access to...

I can heartily reinforce everything others have said about this little piece of paradise. We arrived in Polignano a Mare by car after flying from Milano to Bari then spending part of the day visiting Trani. Our wonderful host organised for his 'courier' service to find us, take us to the car parking area and then to our accommodation. We then found ourselves in a modern well equipped room and a map with lots of incredibly useful recommendations. We ate at the 'butcher type restaurant' recommended and were so glad we did.
Breakfast was great and as a person who doesn't particularly like sweet things in the morning Domenico's ricotta cake was to die for.
Our biggest problem was that we could only stay for one night but would love to return for a much longer stay.

fabulous breakfast, gorgeous room! we had a wonderful time in Polignano! Thanks to Santo Stefano. Breakfast buffet outstanding on the beautiful roof terrace with splendid view over the Adriatic Sea. Spontaneously we decided to stay an additional night.

We recently stayed here in the Yellow Room, spacious with a little sitting area and very quiet. There is a great arrangement with a cycle rickshaw to collect your luggage from, and deliver it back to, your car. Do not drive into the old city! Domenico is an absolute bundle of energy and friendliness. He has great recommendations for eating, especially Eremita a local fish restaurant, is willing to answer all your queries and yes.....bakes glorious cakes for breakfast and he does it all with great good humour and a wide smile. He manages to talk with everyone at some point. Breakfast is very generous with a good variety of cakes, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, ham.
This is not exactly a BandB in the sense that you are welcomed into someone's home it is more like a very small hotel but it works wonderfully well nonetheless. A great position right in the heart of the old town and on the edge of the ocean.

Room Tip: We were pleased to have a room with a window
