“Out of this world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2007

I am compelled to write this review as my wife and I had such a terrific stay at the AA. It has to be the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in, the rooms are tasteful and charming and the view is just to die for. The staff is thoroughly professional and work with tremendous efficiency and pride. Despina is a charming and adept hostess with an infectious smile mastering easily the art of consummate service. The position of the apartments for us seemed perfect with lovely walks offering breathtaking panoramas over the caldera. We always prefer to try fresh vacation spots and feel that we have concluded our “Santorini experience” however we could never get bored of the “Anastasis experience” and will no doubt visit again.

Simply an incredible place to stay. Perfect setting, incredibly friendly staff and owner (Despina) and just fantastic. Rooms are great, kept in SUCH clean conditions. The pool is something like no other. We checked out a lot of hotels in Santorini and the pool at Anastasis was by far the most interesting and makes a great setting for pictures. We were so shocked to see how clean the grounds were kept and how staff was cleaning all the time. FREE INTERNET access in the "lounge room" which worked out great. Not too far from Fira and Oia. Great bus service stops right near hotel. It's about 35 min walking distance from Fira and more by foot for Oia (but you can take a short cab ride or bus). If you're not into walking and you want to be RIGHT IN TOWN, you may not want to stay here. It's on top of the cliff so the view is the best you can get, esp. at sunset.

DEFINITELY A PLACE YOU SHOULD STAY AT! Only about 10 couples stay here at a time. The view and services is fantastic and you feel like "home" here.

  • Liked — The owner, Despina, was so accomodating and helpful that she really made our trip amazing.
  • Disliked — A bit far from town but we'd still stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in room #110. This was our favorite hotel of our whole trip by far. It's so beautiful, the hotel itself and the scenery.

The room was so spacious and the bathroom was huge with a jacuzzi tub. The grounds are beautifully decorated, there's a great lounge with a TV, internet access, tables and couches. The location is perfect. It's away from the crowds but close enough to be in town in 5-10 minutes. Victor, Helen, Despina and her husband were ALL great! We can't rave enough about them. They are there to help you with anything. Despina's husband gave us a ride back from the grocery store and down to the local restaurant. Helen explained everything wonderfully upon our arrival. Victor helped with just about everything else. And Despina is the best hostess, she has worked hard on her place and you can tell.

The hot tub experience is so beautiful and romantic. We took the latest time slot (right after sunset) and we thought it was the perfect time. Do not miss this experience!

I can't say enough about this hotel. We would stay here again and again.

We had heard many stories about "misleading advertising"... NOT here. We were completely satisfied; the location was ideal- not too far from Fira -- not to far from Oia. The hotel is located on a 'rare' piece of flat land, so we didn't have to climb steps to reach our room yet we had awesome views of the Caldera. The pool was too cool for us to enjoy- but others did. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the entire facility was CLEAN. Often times we miss our strong shower- not here, it was great.
The queen size bed was very comfortable, kitchen area well stocked- just a great experience. The owner and all employees were accommodating to every request. Hotel service was exceptional! GREAT place to stay!! A couple visiting held their wedding while we were there... a beautiful ceremony.
Within walking distance was a very good taverna as well.
If you travel to Greece- be sure to bring cash-- we found many restaurants and/or vendors... do NOT take credit cards!!

  • Liked — their goal was to make my stay the best ever
  • Disliked — nothing!!

We have just returned from a wonderful week's holiday at the Anastasis Apartments in Santorini. It's probably the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in with amazing attention to detail, from little touches like providing a candle lantern in the room to use on your own private terrace in the evening whilst you watch the sun sinking down behind the caldera across the beautiful infinity pool to the sole use of the jacuzzi for an hour on an upper deck, accompanied by a complimentary glass of local white wine and a selection of Greek meze. We were staying in a superior apartment on the ground floor, which was very spacious and had direct access to the swimming pool and sun terraces. We were shown some of the more expensive rooms which were on the upper floors with balconies, but overall we were very happy with our room which had a bedroom area with a comfortable bed and plenty of storage, a bathroom with a large shower, basin and toilet and a sitting/dining area with a kitchenette, containing all you'd need to prepare basic food if you wished to. Despina and her husband with a few, very friendly and hard-working staff run a terrific service - breakfast served inside or outside your room from 8.30 every morning, daily room clean and tidy including fresh towels and robes, helpful hints on restaurants, buses, taxis, hiring a car, sightseeing trips, local walks etc etc. We loved Santorini and spent our time walking to Oia (it's supposed to be one and a half hours but it took us about two and a half), walking to Fira via Imerovigli (recommendation was 45 minutes but was one and a half hours for us), visiting the volcano and hot springs on a boat trip, which returned via Oia just as the sun was setting, exploring the island in a hire car for two days and lots of eating, drinking and relaxing. We found the Anastasis Apartment Hotel on this site and would definitely recommend it to others.

  • Liked — The view from the room
  • Disliked — A bath would have made the bathroom perfect

This is a wonderful hotel, great for romantic getaways. Everything said in the other reviews is true. Despina is wonderful.
However, the pool (which is a key attraction of the hotel) is frizzing! Not cold, but FRIZZING!! Despina says we Americans complain a lot about it, but with the price that is charged for a room they could at least heat it up a little.

This certainly one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The accomodations were perfect: beautiful room, beautiful view, exceptionally clean. Host was very a willing and able to be helpful with restaurants, car rental, sites to see, etc.as well as places to go and not go. The attention to detail in this resort is not commonly found. Not ornate or gaudy. Great simple, breakfasts brought to our balcony each morning. Fun to walk to town (45 minutes) but a car rental is helpful to see all the sites on the island. The views from our room and balcony were astonishing. The sunsets and ocean were breathtaking. This is a perfect resort. Had not planned to return, but I certainly would.

  • Disliked — nothing. it was perfect.
