“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

I didn't think Anastasis could live up to the amazing reviews on Tripadvisor, but our experience exceeded them! Everything was perfect - the service far beyond any I've ever experienced. The breakfasts were some of the best food during our trip, the staff gave us wonderful recommendations, and the free transportation to various dinner spots was so helpful! We were pampered for our four days and our only regret was not staying longer. Cheers to Despina and her team!

Room Tip: I don't think you can go wrong.

Despina and her team tick all our boxes when it comes to a total service and the location was just the icing on the cake.
We had the white room for our stay for 4 nights and i was wishing i had stayed much longer than i did because a) i had got to learn so much more about Santorini the second time i had visited and b) because the hotel was just perfect on so many levels.

-They have a great little menu which you can spoil yourself on a daily basis that includes great cocktails/drinks and food.
- The variety in the breakfast was so refreshing to see, we find ourselves comparing other breakfasts we had elsewhere on trip to this (which is a positive)
- The staff who i got on famously with as we both spoke Greek are just tireless and in their efforts to make you feel at home and happy with everyone, they are the key to just making this place what it is.
- The bed itself was so comfortable , the room was clean , and being in a all white room i felt at ease all 4 days. The pool area was perfect and the Jacuzzi we used on our last night was a good way to wrap up our stay.
- The view is beyond words..

Can't wait to go back soon :)

ust returned from our second visit to Anastasis. We were greeted like old friends the moment we arrived. We stayed in the White suite and only left our balcony for dinner. The service was utterly outstanding, the place immaculate, the views and weather incredible. However, what makes Anastasis stand out is the attention to detail and the little extras. It was my partner's birthday whilst we were there (the reception staff had noticed this from his passport) - they surprised us with champagne, cake, a chorus of happy birthday in Greek and a home made birthday card at breakfast. Not enough? How about access to the private jacuzzi, with complimentary massages overlooking the sea - for us BOTH?! Every member of staff- from the masseur to the cleaners to the car driver wished him a happy birthday when they saw him during the day. And still there's more... We returned back from dinner (them having booked us a great table, and driven us there and back) to a room full of candles, champagne, chocolates and a birthday present

DITTO, DITTO, DITTO to the many "excellent" views already added by other very happy guests of Despina and her team. Nothing more I can say that hasn't been said many times. Beautiful setting and exceptional service. Faultless!

The Anastasis really deserves its number one slot on Tripadvisor, on booking I thought it was quite pricey for a 1 bed apartment, but this is so much more like a boutique hotel than apartments and you get so many extras which make the stay really good value for money.

We received a fantastic welcome from Despina and her staff, we were in the smallest apartment which was lovely and had the most spectacular view. The fridge was full of soft drinks and a bowl of fruit for our arrival. What I loved about staying here is being able to order lovely food throughout the day by the pool, but equally being able to go back to your apartment and make your own food, Anastasis runs daily trips to the Supermarket for when you want to stock up. The daily breakfast served on our terrace was outstanding and a treat everyday looking at the wonderful view!

The Anastasis was in the perfect location for us as we loved getting the bus into Oia in the evenings for Dinner and to look around the gorgeous shops (the bus stop is just a few minutes walk from the apartments). We also used the free transport into Fira Stefani in the evenings and we enjoyed the cliff walk into Fira for dinner. There are so many great places to eat, Despina and her team have loads of recommendations and will give you ideas of prices to suit your budget. On our last night we went to 1800 in Oia, this was our best meal bar far, the portions aren’t big but the quality and flavour of the food were outstanding. If you want to splash out one night go there you won’t be disappointed! We so looked forward to going back to the apartment each night and seeing the little treats that had been left.

We really recommend a massage with Yannis we have had loads throughout our travels over the years and he was great.

We hired a car for the day and went round most of the island, stopping off at Red beach, White Beach, and a fantastic homemade ice cream shop that Ann Marie had recommended. We also stopped off at Agios Georgios Beach and went to Notos by the Sea Restaurant, the food, cocktails, decor and atmosphere were amazing, definitely one of our favourite restaurants throughout our holiday.

We stayed at the Four Seasons on Mahe for part of our Honeymoon in 2011, but Despina and her wonderful team of staff won hands down for their wonderful service, they really make you feel like you are part of the family. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and have already recommended it to Family & friends.

Many thanks Despina, Irene, Anne Maria & all the pool guys for making our stay just perfect, we hope to come and stay with you again one day.

We stayed at Anastasis Apartments June 4-11, 2012 for our 15th Wedding Anniversary and have to say from the moment we were welcomed through the gates to the moment we left, Despina, Irene, Ann Marie and staff did not disappoint. I learned about Anastasis Apartments over 5 years ago when reading a magazine and the reviews were unbelievably positive. Despite all the great reviews I still searched for other hotels in Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli and Oia to be absolutely sure that Anastasis was going to be the best hotel and best location. Lots of people had recommended staying in Oia but I am so glad we did not stay there. Oia is also very beautiful and a must see, but it is further away from Fira and is all uphill so unless you love hiking you really would need to take the bus or a taxi. And for those afraid of heights the cliffs to Oia are quite steep. (Eat at Poka Restaurant if you do go to Oia and try the Tomato fritters and the sagonaki with honey and sesame seeds). The town itself is beautiful so if you want just peace and quiet and don't really plan on going anywhere else then maybe it would be okay but I personally liked having options by staying at Anastasis Apartments.

In the end I am so glad we chose Anastasis apartments over all the others for its magnificent view, large air conditioned rooms with beautiful decor, stunning infinity pool, central location to all the other towns, access to the bus, best reviews and price. The location really was perfect. Every day we walked about 40 to 45 minutes to Fira along the picturesque cliffside (very walkable) path. Before leaving, Ann Marie made sure to give us some bottled water along for our hike. What breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and the Caldera. We loved the walk so much we walked to Fira every day for lunch and did a little shopping and then took the bus back. There are a lot of souvenir shops in Fira but also some really nice clothing boutiques and my favorite jewelry store was "Inez's" Jewelry Store (she sells the best unique greek jewelry pieces at a decent price). Only a small part of that walk is up hill so as long as you have a good pair of walking shoes or sandals you should have no problem. If you don't like to walk or find it difficult to walk then just catch the bus for a few Euros to Fira or any of the other towns. It is really accessible and the bus stops at Tasso's tavern (another really nice place to eat - and the owner and his family are all so nice) just a few 100 metres away from Anastasis. For anyone who has been to Positano, Italy (our other favorite place to visit) the walking is much easier in Santorini as you are not climbing so many stairs all the time. Despina and her staff made sure our every need was attended to. I never expected such a warm welcome that late at night when we arrived but when the gate opened Despina, her husband and staff, were there to greet us. Despina took the time to sit with us and learn our likes and dislikes. For example, my husband and I were on the 3rd phase of the Dukan Diet and although we had decided to cheat while on vacation, we still needed to eat our oat bran each day with some no fat yogurt. Despina said she would do her best to find the yogurt and said if she had to ship it in from Athens she would. This may seem like no big deal but finding plain no fat yogurt in Greece or any of the other European Countries we had visited was not easy. She also asked if we wanted breakfast and originally we were not going to have breakfast because of our diet but decided to have a decaf cappuccino, some eggs, veggies and yogurt each day. Before delivering breakfast each day Ann Marie would call to make sure we were ready for it and to ask where we would like to enjoy our breakfast (on the patio, in the room or by the pool) and honestly within a minute it was delivered to our room - cooked to perfection.

We stayed in the Junior Suite and it was absolutely beautiful and very spacious. The bathroom was very spacious and modern. The refrigerator was well stocked with lots of complimentary water, pop, and even beer. On arrival Despina welcomed us with an amazing fruit basket and the first night we ordered some bruschetta and a Greek Salad off the menu - it was so good. Every day after that was always full of little extras and surprises. When we returned from Fira each day Ann Marie or Irene would ask us if we would like a decaf cappuccino (this was our preference) and a small dessert while we relax by the pool. The cappuccino and homemade desserts are so good. Then at sundown they would bring us a glass of white wine and an appetizer and upon returning from an evening out there was always another surprise (usually a bedtime treat) waiting for us in the room along with the nicest handwritten personalized notes. Everything was complimentary. Despina and her staff also know all the best restaurants and also offer a free shuttle service to restaurants in Firostefani and Imerovigli. She even arranges a car rental for you for a mere 25 Euros for a day and the car is delivered right to the Anastasis Apartments and dropped off there as well. All you have to do is sign the papers as everything else has been done for you. When we got to the office to pick up the keys for our car rental Ann Marie had already marked up a map highlighting all the best places to see. We were on our way quickly thanks to their preparation. If you do rent a car it was worth the drive to the Archealogical Site of Akrotiri and after exploring it, come out and you will see two streets one that takes you to the Black or Red beach (can't remember which one) and the other to the left which seems like a dead end. Walk down the street to the left and at the end of it and then to the right you will see a few restaurants and a couple of boats that will take you to three of the beaches for only five Euros. You can stay on the boat or the captain will let you off and pick you up in an hour. We really enjoyed this day.

One night Despina arranged for an evening in a private terrace and hot tub to watch the sunset. This was an amazing evening and very romantic. Despina also ensured we had complimentary wine and an appetizer that night to enjoy the view. Some of the rooms have a private hot tub but ours did not so this was an unexpected touch that just added to an already perfect stay. Anastasis Apartments also has a beautiful sitting room with a fireplace, computer, english books and magazines etc. In the office they have even have movies you can borrow if you want to watch a movie one night. All we can say is you will instantly feel the sincerity and generosity of the owner to make your stay the best ever. Despina and her staff somehow manage to treat you like royality while still respecting your privacy. Wow is all we can say!!!! The cleaning staff and pool/waiting staff are also some of the hardest workers I have ever seen. Our room was always perfectly tidy and clean and when taking a dip in the pool and coming out someone was always there to clean up any residual water so no one would slip. We also always had cold water to drink while relaxing by the pool. My husband and I have stayed in many great hotels but none compare overall to the hospitality, quality of rooms, service and friendship we received at Anastasis Apartments. Despina and her staff will not disappoint and we can't wait to go back some day!! Thanks for the wonderful memories and friendship Despina!!

If you are going to Santorini you have to stay at the Anastasis apartments. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left Despina and the team were amazing. On walking through from reception the view takes your breath away and you never tire of it. Lots of little touches they do and the way you are looked after by the staff make your stay that extra bit special but I won't spoil their little surprises by putting them on here, go and find out for yourself you really will not be disappointed. Thanks for a great holiday.
