We spent 4 nights here at the end of september, early october as part of our Greek honeymoon. We booked the hotel through Uli Perschau at Dolphin Hellas, a TA based in Athens. Though we chose to go low budget as much as possible in Athens and Crete, we splurged a bit on staying at the Iliovasilema. Although we stayed in the cheapest room there, our stay was wonderful and we were very happy to have chosen this hotel.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We asked Faye many questions and she always helped us out. Our room was right by the pool and although we didn't have a private balcony, we did have a table and chairs outside our room. The weather was amazing, so we swam in the pool many times after hiking/sightseeing. The pool isn't large, but it was great for cooling off. We didn't have breakfast with our room, but just bought food at the local supermarket which was wonderful. The hotel has many little balconies with lounge chairs and couches where you can sit and enjoy the view for as long as you want. We met some very nice people there, who were also on their honeymoon. The location is great. You're away from the hustle and bustle of Fira and Oia, yet those are not too far away. We walked to Fira in 20 minutes on the foot path that passes the hotel near the bottom, and Oia was a 2.5 hr walk (but we took the bus back). If we regret one thing, it is that we couldn't stay there longer.
