Very happy with my decision to book here….

About me: 27, male, from NYC, on honeymoon, laid back

Overall the place is great and the staff is super friendly. From emails months before we arrived until the day we checked out the were always polite, prompt and courteous.

We had a “regular apartment” but it has to be one of the best. It was number 3 and it was quite large, bed was loft like, had a private balcony and full kitchen facilities. I would highly recommend number 3.

There are a few common areas where you can simply cull up with a bottle of wine and good book and watch the sunset if you choose. There is even a room with internet, TV, stereo and books you can borrow.

I will say this, some of the rooms by the pool are not too private once you are on your balcony. Be sure to ask about this. We were on one of the lowest levels which is not fun with all the steps but we were near the public path to Fira and it was very private.

In regards to the area, Imerovigli is a good place to stay but now that I look back I probably would have preferred Firostefani. It’s not too far from the main town, lets say between 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk. We would usually walk in but cab it back, after we had too much Ozou! Cabs were about 5-7 Euro back to the hotel. Not bad at all.

There is a little mini market right across the street and I advise you to go there right after you check in and stock up. It’s .80 cents Euro for an Amstel from the market or 5 Euro from the mini bar, you choose!

I will say this, forget viewing the sunset from a fancy restaurant or from Oia, our hotel had amazing sunsets. So amazing that an applause would occur each night as it fell behind the volcano.

We rented an ATV and went all over the island. I recommend it and the hotel will set it up for about 22 Euros a day. Me and My wife are both small people and the 50cc ATV had trouble going up hills, if you are bigger than me 160 lbs, get a 100 or even 150 cc.

We did not do the hotel breakfast but my wife would whip us up some toast or eggs or yogurt from the market in the room for about a quarter of the cost.

Santorini is really a magical place and we can not wait to return. One tip, go to Ammoudi the small port below Oia and walk past all the restaurants over the rocks. Actually I take it back, eat at Sunset then continue walking. About a 5 minute walk, there you will find the most amazing, secluded swimming hole with views of all of Santorini. There was only about 6 people there when I went.

No matter what, you will like this hotel. I paid 200 Euro a night, mid Sept.

A little tip, do not get the 50 Euro transfer from the hotel. We grabbed a taxi at the port for 20 total, just make sure you are one of the first people off the ferry as there are only 39 cabs in all of Santorini.

We visited Mykonos and Paros as well. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I just returned home from a wonderful trip to Greece. We started out sailing but ended at the Ilovaslimema Hotel where we enjoyed our room and service.
When you first come to Santorini and walk down the stairs to the reception you will be blown away by the view. I stayed in a small suite, #1, and it was perfect for me. My friends stayed in the room right next door so we shared our balcony but some might not like that and you might want another room. I looked at just about all the rooms and each is different. I am not sure I would like to be near the small pool. Room #5 was recently redone and very nice with a jacuzzi in the middle.
The service was outstanding. Rula was absolutely the sweetest person in the world and attentive to every need. It is a 25 walk into Fira but stay away from there on thursdays when over 7 cruise ships come in. It is a crazy city but great shopping. Eat at Nicholas Taverna in Fira and Red Bicycle in Oia. I loved Oia and would stay there next time if this hotel was not available. High end shops, quieter but more things to do within walking distance. Mystic and Ikies were the nicest places there.
You will love Isiovasilema. I think it was reasonable but we did have the smallest suite.

We stayed at Ilioleseloma in July and loved the place. It’s not cheap, but they offer a good service, warm atmosphere, clean rooms. Each room has a beautiful caldera view and worth all the money. Ask in advance and hotel will pick you pick and drop you off (for a fee but worth it). Very nice location, walking distance to restaurants and closed by towns, but we would recommend you to rent a scooter or small car or bike if you would like to travel and see the beautiful island. Very recommend this place for your special stay in Santorini.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the last week of August. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the spectacular views and beauty of the hotel itself. We stayed in the Junior Suite, which was more than enough space, and spent every sunset on our private front balcony overlooking the caldera, volcano and islands in the distance.

The pool was clean and inviting and we spent many a day lounging around it and sunbathing instead of bussing around to busy beaches (although they too are beautiful).

The service was also fantastic as the staff was able to answer all of our questions and were always on hand to take care of any of our needs. We took the hotel's recommendations to eat at Vanilia (in nearby Firostefani - take the scenic walk) and Skaros, which had amazing seafood and appetizers.

Our only regret was that we were unable to stay longer! We will definitely return!

Words can not begin to describe how beautiful this location of Santorini is!! Iliovasilema was an amazing place to stay just based on the views alone!! The studios apartments were great (we stayed in two different one)...both had private balcony areas were we sat every evening to watch the sunset. The resort is very clean and the staff are increadibly helpful! The apartments are great because they have kitchen facilities which we used to cook our own amazing meals to enjoy on our patio. The food and drinks at the resort are over priced but convenient. We recommend heading across the street to purchase your own liquor instead of paying an arm and a leg for drinks. There are a couple great little restaurants down the street. Otherwise, there isn't much to do around the town (unless you have a car)...but you won't want to leave the comfort of the pool, suntanning chairs or your private patio anyways!!
