My hubby and I travelled to Santorini earlier in May as part of our Europe trip. After 2 weeks on the road, wanted to finish on a relaxing note in Santorini. Given it was off peak we took a risk, and flew in with only a shortlist of our top 7 luxury hotels. We spent a morning hiking from Fira to Imerovigli looking for these hotels. Long story short, after looking at all these top rated hotels, we decided unanimously on Chromata.
The white walls with the soft grey steps leading to an amazing view took our breath away. But the whole experience would not have been complete without the personable world class service. So there we were on a hot sunny day, appearing on the steps of Chromata sweaty and thirsty, with a handful of rubbish cos I couldnt find a bin. Vagelis greeted us with a bright smile (which would be so characteristic of him every morning for the next 12 days) and kindly offered to take the rubbish from my hand. We later met Christina who showed us the gorgeous rooms, and worked out a really good deal for the duration of our stay.
We explained that we're still on my search and had a few hotels left on our list, Christina gave us no pressure and said we're welcome back anytime.
Well, as history had it, we went through the remaining hotels, with some a lot more expensive, and others cheaper. Hubby and I couldn't shake off just how fresh, welcoming and elegant Chromata was. So despite the heat, we made our way back to our home away from home. And that was the best decision we made. The entire was newly renovated with a whole new management team.
Christina offered us a free upgrade to a honeymoon suite, and it was amazing! The room was huge, as were the bathroom and our walk-in. When we opened our door, we were greeted by a tranquil yet breathtaking view that's all ours to have. The balcony gave us all the privacy we needed, to enjoy the sumptuous breakfast under the soft morning sun. While we made it a point to keep active during the day, hubby and I loved unwinding at the end of the night in our private jacuzzi.
We had dinner in the hotel's outdoor balcony on our first night. Make sure you book the outside table early as there is only one table for 2. The beautiful view and sunset was accompanied by top notch greek food. It was a memorable night.
We were in search of a beautiful haven to relax in, while still being relatively near all the action. Chromata fit what we were looking for perfectly. During our stay, Vagelis helped us to book cab rides to town which was fast and convenient. We also hired a car for the day to check out Perissa and the wineries down south. When the heat got to us, we were spoilt for choice in Chromata's 2 pool areas, with one built like the quintessential cave pool, while the other is an intimate infinity pool facing the mediterranean sea.
Our experience in Chromata was absolutely flawless. Managed to perfection by Christina along with her very capable team (special mention to Vagelis and Giogors who makes the best concoctions by the pool!). Thanks so much Christina, Vagelis, Giogors and Giorgors number 2 and all the remaining amazing staff that made our stay so so special. And now we can't wait to return back to Greece.
We were in the honeymoon suite to the extreme left and it was private, quiet with absolutely beautif...
