“Just lovely and special!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

I was having a hard time deciding over the Grace or there was another new hotel that just opened . We ended up choosing Grace because of the pool and it has the majority of good reviews . This place is so wonderful. The rooms are clean and everyone has a great view . The breakfast is spectacular and included with the room rate . The dinner is so delicious , you really don't want to go anywhere else . We went to Oia one night and I actually felt queezy from the heavy food of the place we went to . The staff is so nice , no one gives any attitude and they all show they want to make you happy . Aphrodite and Christina at the front desk are great and Dimitris the afternoon night staff is so kind and funny .The pool is the best in the village and that's where we have dinner surrounded by this glowing pool and perfect sunsets . The pros : the staff , the views, the food , the location , the cleanliness, no babies or toddlers and the pool . Tips: ( I don't want to say negatives ) you will see hikers from you room window but the room we had did not , but everyone is close to each other and out in the open so it's up to you on what you like , no spa , and the gym has three little machines . What to do: go hike to the old castle, get a private boat tour with Alex boats , he takes you to very special places like swimming on around a volcano in a hot spring and serves you lunch --plus go to fira and oia, I will be staying here again !!!!

We stayed here for a night before heading to Oia, and were instantly smitten. The minimalist, modern & well curated rooms have spectacular views of the Caldera. Removed from the more touristy areas of Thira, you feel like you're somewhere remote and special. Everything at Grace is extremely well done, with remarkably attentive service, great food, and a super relaxed luxurious vibe.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a private small deck with a hot tub.

I write this review with a heavy heart after having to leave such an amazing place. My wife and I stayed at the Grace Santorini 2 seasons ago and didn't think it could get much better. To our delight, we were wrong!! We opted for a Deluxe room this time and stayed in room 52. There was plenty of room for the two of us, not that we were inside the room very often. The room was well appointed, with an extremely comfortable bed and giant shower and bathroom. Apivita bath products were provided which are excellent.

We were met at reception upon arrival by Georgia.....it felt like reuniting with a lost long best friend. She brought us our welcome champagne and we chatted about our travels. We were brought to our room we Georgia had made (probably herself since she does it all!) us a custom pillow with our initials on it (see picture). What a thoughtful welcome treat!

There is also fantastic "memory box" in the room. The hotel provides a box with some glass containers and bag to collect treasures on your stay. We chose to fill it with black sand from Perivolos and Red sand from the Red Beach, as well as some other trinkets that were special to us during our stay. The memory box is a fantastic idea, I wish more hotels did something like this!!

My wife's birthday was also occurring during our stay and Georgia arranged a dinner in one of the caves in the restaurant (a must do). Since my wife is vegan, preparing a traditional Greek menu might have been challenging. Not at the Grace. Spiro's created wonderful 3 course meal that delicious in every way. Cheers!

The rest of the staff was wonderful too. Christina, Dmitiris, Ben, Dora, Spiros were always knowledgeable, attentive, polite and always greeted you with by name and welcoming smile.
As you might be able to tell, its is a unique, intimate hotel. If you are looking for hustle and bustle or staff that acts like robots, this isn't the place for you.

I would be remiss if i didn't make a few suggestions before wrapping up with another rave about Georgia. So here are a few points off the top of my head for first time guests: There are stairs...a lot. Its not a big deal if you are fit. I would recommend staying elsewhere if you are in a wheelchair or have difficulty walking though. There is a path that runs on the outside of the hotel to Skaros Rock. People will walk down this path throughout the day and especially at sunset. The hotel did not build this path and its not their fault its there. Some people seem to be put off by it, but was total non issue for us. The people don't stop and chat, its just a public walkway. Skip Kamari (except for the open air cinema) and go to Perivolos. Go out late at night, we ate dinner usually around 10 pm. Skip Fira during the day...the bus loads of cruise people wont make for a nice visit. Take a private or semi private catamaran tour. Smile your at Grace. When in doubt ask the front desk staff for suggestions, they wont let you down.

Last and certainly not least....Georgia. From booking my reservation, to recommending Nickoletta to take us on a half day private tour (GO with her, she is so nice and knowledgeable!), to the custom pillow, to making surprise dinner reservations, sending a surprise birthday cake and champagne, for helping make travel arrangements after I screwed things up, for doing the laundry (haha), and ALL the other countless things you do. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. You have become like family and we couldn't imagine our Grace Experience without you. You is as invaluable as an employee could possibly be.

Josef, you should follow my recommendation that I left on the check out card. Thanks again for the drinks!

Basically, fellow traveler, you should stay at the Grace and stop looking at other places. The hotel only has 20 rooms (plus the villa). We are already planning our next trip, you should too. What are you waiting for?

Room Tip: All rooms have a priceless vie of the sea and sunset.

we had a whole week of wonderful, views, service, surroundings and food at this fabulous hotel. We stayed in one of the Caldera Suites (Suite 16) which has a larger than average terrace and stunning views for sunset on the Caldera. A private plunge pool made a big difference when the heat got a bit too much. The breakfasts by the pool terrace overlooking the ocean are fabulous. nothing too much trouble for the great management and staff. Truly stunning experience all around. unequivocally recommended

Room Tip: Caldera Suites or rooms.

We have just returned from a truly memorable stay at The Grace Santorini.
We were wondering what all the fuss was about on the drive from the airport but when we walked along the Caldera path to the Grace we were blown away (more of that later) by the stunning view. What everyone says about the warm welcome is absolutely true. The staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble.Everyone mentions Georgia, and rightly so but a special thank you from us to Aphrodite. Our room was spacious, spotless and well looked after every day by the great cleaning staff. Thank you to the manager Joseph and the lovely idea of having a drinks party one night where we met some lovely fellow guests. The breakfasts were delicious and imaginative and on our last night we had a wonderful dinner in the hotel, would definitely recommend. The downside....we had to leave! And yes the wind on one day which was quite an experience. And finally it wouldn't be a proper report if I didn't mention the steps!

My husband and I just traveled to Greece for our honeymoon and we stayed at Grace Santorini. I can confidently say that Grace Santorini was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. We were immediately greeted by the friendliest staff and we're told more about the history of the island. The entire experience felt so intimate, from the size of the hotel, to the friendly staff.

The hotel is pristine, the rooms are incredible, private and well taken care of. The sleek design is carried from the individual rooms, pool deck and even the meals. The staff is incredibly attentive and accommodating, the food is delicious (including the incredible 5 course breakfast).

The views from Grace are breathtaking, there's no need to go anywhere else. We did explore the island and the staff was very helpful in securing transportation and recommendations. I hands down would stay at Grace Santorini again and any of their other locations.

Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making it a very memorable experience.

We made a booking for the Grace many months ago, and had ridiculously high expectations. To save people having to read the rest of this review, if they so wish, I will say it now, this is the best hotel in the world, with fantastic people, unbelievable views and the ultimate in luxury and relaxation. It's difficult to say how they can improve the overall experience, although knowing Joseph and Georgia, they will try their utmost to do so. The hotel lies in the most central spot in the Caldera, I can't imagine anywhere on the island has a better view and it is a view that you will never tire of.
We had booked to stay at the Grace Suite, which looked fantastic, but upon arriving at the hotel, we were given the wonderful news that we were being upgraded to the Villa. We were overwhelmed by this kind offer. Hopefully many of you reading will be fortunate enough to experience this too, as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Villa is spectacular.
Where to start? You get your own lovely swimming pool, sundeck, relaxation area with comfortable sofas, 2 outdoor dining areas, inside, there is a spa with it's own massage room, steam room and huge Jacuzzi. Also a host of great pampering products. My partner had a very relaxing massage and highly recommends it. The lounge area has all mod cons, large plasma TV, sound system that can be piped into any room, great aircon, all the usual tea and coffee facilities, fridge, mini bar, free wifi and much more. The shower is huge, I mean really huge, there is a very beautifully designed vanity area, the list of fabulous facilities is endless.
We also had a great evening cruise around the island package, we had an entire catamaran to ourselves and witnessed a beautiful sunset. Again, an experience difficult to improve upon.
The rest of the hotel is classy and elegant, first-class waiters and bar staff, Dmitris in particular is a great guy (the Athens one!). As well as a great and varied breakfast menu, the evening meals were of Michelin standard and we even were able to have meals that were not on the menu. Everything can be tailored to your requirements.
We were genuinely very sad when our stay came to an end, Joseph and Georgia were always to hand to see how we were and if there was anything they could do to make our stay better. How often in life can you say that everything was perfect, there was nothing more they could do?
