“Good location, excellent food, lovely owners, good rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

Ended up staying at this hotel for 2 nights. We arrived late on a Sunday night to find the restaurant closed. However, they helped us order food delivered to the hotel (we were exhausted and didn't want to explore so late at night and we dont speak ANY French) and even provided us drinks, silverware and flatware! The room was small, but adequate. The water pressure was good, the towels were good, the bed was european firm, we had extra pillows but still kinda soft. Our room opened to a small courtyard where each room has 2 chairs and a small table to enjoy the sun filled trellised courtyard. A nice breakfast (hot drink, cold drink, croissant, baguettes, cereals, yogurt) with option of eggs cooked to order for an add'l price. The view from the restaurant is fabulous, overlooking the water. Literally 100 ft away, is a lovely little cove that is fairly empty of tourists since there is no parking nearby and a large public beach is about 1/4 mile away. Easy to walk to and just chill. We did explore down to Saint Maxime, Saint Tropez, but they were busy touristy areas (fun!) and it was nice to come back to our quiet hotel with lovely views. We chose to have dinner at the hotel, and what a surprise it was! The food is EXCELLENT! Definitely a must try! I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying in this hotel. Room was very nice, good location, close to a small beach. The staff and the owners are very friendly.
We will certainly stay on this hotel on our next trip to that area.

We recently stayed at the Cap Riviera for just one night. We booked based on the good reviews we read online. The hotel more than lived up to expectations. Don't be fooled by their website (which makes it seem a bit motel-ish). It's truly charming. Just 1km outside the village, it's easy to find, being right along the coastal road. We had a sea view room on the 2nd floor with a balcony to enjoy the sun.

The staff are wonderfully friendly. The service is fantastic. We ate dinner the night we arrived (fresh fish - very generous portions) and breakfast the next morning. The rooms are very clean, the beds very comfortable. Our only regret is that we were only stopping through on our way to somewhere else and couldn't stay another night or two.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms have a beautiful view of the Mediterranean.

Booked over the phone after reading other reviews here. Stayed 2 nights and secured their last sea view room. On arrival we were welcomed very warmly by the owner, Alain who showed us up to our room, carried our (heavy bag) and explained everything we needed to know about the room, breakfast and how to get back into the hotel after a late night (gate is locked - good security, but you get a key code).

Our room contained a very large double bed, plenty of space to put clothes, 2 chairs, a small table, bedside tables and there was also room to store the empty bags. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. There was also a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the small sandy beach and cove opposite the hotel. There is also free wifi, with a code provided by Alain, which is unique to each user.

We slept well, the main coast road is in front of the hotel but is not busy at night, and if you are bothered by noise you could keep the double glazed window closed and lower your shutter. The rooms have heating and airconditioning, so there should be no trouble finding a temperature that suits. We prefered to leave the door to the balcony open a touch to hear the sea.

Breakfast is 8 euros, but for that you get as much as you can eat and/or drink, although we didn't test this as the basket of goodies we were offered was plenty! We had very good bread, croissants and pain au chocolat. Twinnings tea in several varieties is offered and Alain knows that his British guests like cold milk with their tea! There was also good orange juice and of course coffee. Our total bill for 2 nights including breakfast each day and the mandatory 'taxe de sejour' came to 200 euros. Very good value for this area.

The only reason why we haven't given 5 stars is the rather small car park. The spaces are marked by wooden battons, but are quite narrow and some less considerate guests park carelessly meaning that when the hotel is busy (as it was during out stay) it can be a real headache to park. However, Alain did offer to slash the tyres of inconsiderate guests! I'm sure he was joking!!! He has an excellent sense of humour and really wants his guests to have a good time.

We noticed that there was a shortish menu for evening meals, but we didn't dine in, prefering to drive to Issambres to the excellent Chante Mer. It's probably worth noting that you would need to drive to any restaurants.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view with a balcony. But if you absolutely must have peace and quiet ask for a room at...

Our stay at this hotel was a wonderful experience! As other reviewers have mentioned, the owners, Alain & Patrizia, were very warm and welcoming! They granted our every request! They offered many terrific suggestions of places to go (and not to go) around the area (in both good weather and bad), as well as fantastic restaurant recommendations, though the dinner at the hotel is also excellent! Our rooms were lovely - we booked a garden view room for our family of three which was adequately sized, while my parents had an ocean view room that had a lovely balcony overlooking the ocean. It is true that the nearby beach is small, but it was nice, and there are lots of larger beaches within a short driving distance. It was wonderful to be away from the more crowded areas of Nice and St. Tropez!! I can highly recommend this hotel for travelers looking for warm, personal service in a smaller hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the more popular tourist spots.

We booked a family suite with an ocean view because we met up with our son and his partner for 3 days.
Reception was friendly and efficient.
The suite was somewhat disappointing - the larger room contained a double bed and one soft chair and the smaller room had twin beds. It was not a comfortable space for 4 adults.
Breakfast was the poorest we encountered in a 2 week trip. Croissants and bread with butter and jam were on the table but yoghurt and fruit had to be requested and were served with no choices offered. At 7.50euros pp we felt this was expensive.
We ordered drinks one evening and again thought the cost of 6 euros for a glass of house wine to be excessive.
The location of the hotel is wonderful with a small, clean cove right across the street. We did make use of the games the hotel has for visitors to borrow along with books and DVDs - this is a nice touch.
We enjoyed 2 dinners at nearby restaurants both of which were within a 20 minutes walk. We had one dinner at the hotel. It was satisfactory.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view. It's worth the premium.

I thought a lot about giving this hotel 5 stars and the only reason it gets 4 from me is because the rooms are rather small (about 10 square meters). But that is the ONLY thing about this hotel that is not perfect. I wish I could give it 4.5 because it's a great hotel.

The location is great too - only 10 minutes to Sainte-Maxime and about 20 minutes to Saint-Tropez.

The rooms are wonderfully and individually decorated. Flat screen TV, fantastic mattresses, air con. Everything is absolutely spotless. The balconies are beautiful, furnished with two chairs and a table and offer a wonderful view. The hotel is family run and the family is friendly, customer oriented and fun. I noticed that they speak French, English and German, but I think I heard a few other languages too.

The free parking is secure and the entire hotel is very safe. The property is gated. There is free high-speed WiFi and they offer a fantastic breakfast on the terrace.

We were traveling with our two grown sons and had two double rooms, but the hotel also offers family rooms if traveling with smaller children.

The price is really unbeatable for the Cote d'Azur. It is a fabulous value for your money. I can highly recommend Hotel Cap Riviera.
