Les Cerisiers was lovely. It was very clean - probably the most important aspect, in my opinion. What I liked was that when we arrived we just had time to get out of the car when David and Karen appeared. (Some places we've arrived at have seemed deserted and we've had to hang about wondering if the owners are even at home.) They showed us around, explaining all that needed explanation. Then they basically left us to it. Some nights we met them down at the poolside for aperitifs and we, maybe, saw them briefly early evening when they appeared for a swim. They were charming and friendly but not intrusive.
-Let's get what we did not like out of the way first: because the kitchen and living area are in the one room, then using the oven in the evening tended to heat up the place more than was comfortable, given the hot weather we were enjoying. But that is really the only negative we can think of.
-We really liked the sheltered terrace where we ate all our meals, overlooking the pool and the Luberon hills.
-Wifi was great.
-Apart from a teapot, the kitchen had everything we needed, and David and Karen provided us with one the first morning when we asked.
-The bed was extremely comfortable, and this can make or break a gite, in our opinion. We went to bed early (for us) most nights, about 10 to 10.30ish and slept well until morning.
-The sofa was also extremly comfortable and the place nicely furnished.
-The pool: ah - the pool! It was wonderful. Warmly cool (if that is not a contradiction)and refreshing. We loved it. We spent lots of time in it in the afternoons when it was so hot.
-It only took 10 minutes strolling to get into the village. We liked the fact that we didn't have to get the car out to go for the fresh bread in the morning or have the bother of finding somewhere to park on market day.
-We had worried slightly about the "semi-detached" nature of Les Cerisiers and Les Oliviers. Would we be in too close contact with our neighbours? However, in reality that wasn't a problem. One evening we heard their TV through the living room wall but generally we did not hear a sound. Besides the occasional friendly "Good morning" greeting or "Did you have a good day?" type chat we might as well have been detached.
Overall, we loved staying here. It was a great situation, a well furnished and comfortable gite with friendly, helpful owners. We unreservedly recommend it to others.

Early evening aperos poolside are an ideal time for our guests to get to know us and each other, swap stories etc . Our client's are from all around the world making it even more interesting. And most come because they love Provence and everything it has to offer !
Naturally the oven makes the living area hot although with windows to front and rear a through draft should help, it is true to say this summer has seen some exceptionally hot periods too - alternatively there is the bbq on the terrace - what better place to cook and enjoy a glass of wine and the view!
We have now added 'teapots' to both gites, something we over looked as Coffee drinkers!
We are delighted everything else including the proximity to the village met your expectation and thank you for recommending us so highly. We hope you will be back next year! regards D&K
