We recently spent a week in Provence. Neither my wife nor I and previously been in that part of the world but on the advice of family members who had been there, booked our stay at Mas Pamona just outside of Cheval-Blanc. We happened to be there during the coldest spring ever (according to locals). However, with the expert advice of David and Marianne (owners of Mas Pamona) we had a terrific stay. They were able to direct us to towns and sights that worked with the weather on that particular day i.e.. rain = inside stuff etc... as well as helped us to prioritize sites due to the limited time we had. No travel book or other sort of guide could have possibly provided us with such detailed, spot on advice. Everything from towns to see to restaurants. Their knowledge of the area and their willingness to spend the time necessary with us made what could have been a washout of sorts into a memorable visit.
In addition to the great advice the facilities are also great. We had a wonderfully appointed,, large and quiet room only steps from the dining and guest living area where we could take advantage of free wifi and gorge ourselves on the complimentary, wonderful breakfast each morning. All of this was provided at an extremely low price. And, as we were unable to bring our dog and missed him a lot, they also had Pom ready for us to play with. Pom has boundless energy and was very friendly.
The grounds are beautifully vegetated and rooms are tastefully decorated. The shower was also a very pleasant surprise. It was just too cold to try out the salt-water pool but it looked magnificent. All-in-all, this is the best hotel/B&B we've aever stayed at. We heartily recommend it to anyone planning a tour of Provence!
