Stayed for the weekend of 12/14 October for a private dinner function on Saturday. Rooms have the most fantastic views of the sea but a heavy price is paid for that. Staff not attentive which included the receptionist who carried on a telephone call for at least 4 minutes whilst we stood in front of her to check in, a young bar person who huffed and reluctantly gave us a second bowl of nibbles when we asked for them with our second - very expensive - drink. Could be why the bar was empty at 8pm.
The cleaner did not replenish the coffee and milk or the bathroom toiletries. Although the room (305) was large the lighting was bad, no dressing table, and nowhere to apply makeup properly. Reading was impossible after dark.
During our private dinner function, water and red wine was dripped over me by waiting staff who were oblivious to the fact, another guest had her used fish knife taken from her plate and heavily slapped back onto the table for the next course. When asked for still water the entire table was given sparkling, later in the evening when more water was requested we were ignored and had to ask a second time. The service was appalling with two guests on our table not receiving their main course for many minutes whilst the rest of us who had been served had meals that were getting cold.
The staff were miserable throughout our stay, not one of them smiled in three days.
On Friday evening we ate at La Sparenza, a few doors down, and although we hadn't booked the staff were welcoming, the food was good and the ambience fantastic. Wish we had stayed at this hotel. We certainly would not pay the high price for this hotel again with it's lack of service and miserable, bady trained staff.
All rooms face the sea but from what I gather from other reviews some rooms have a bath and others a...
