went to royal bay hotel in elinite for 2 weeks flying with balkan after looking at some of the reviews was a bit worried about it but to tell you the truth it all depends on what your like and what you expect and for me i had a great time after arriving at 11pm we were picked up by a golf buggy and taken to the hotel. We had a sea view room which was amazing on a clear day you can see turkey i must say alot of people on here moaned about the food for me it was ok never had a problem with it everything i had eaten was well cooked and hot but there is a great cheap restaraunt call pakos great food and drink. yes there is alot of russians and germans who are rude but thats them they didnt bother me one bit each to there own as for the staff they were brilliant nice and friendly and went out there way to help us the room was great but not a 4* hotel id say 3 at least the cleaner was spot on polite and went out her way to help us in anyway possible. i must say there is nothing to do after 9.30pm when the evening entertainment is over that is one of the down falls but the animation team done a great job with the kids and with doing things around the pool like darts water polo and just generally coming over and having conversations with us service at the pool bar was great cant fault these people at all who work very long hours for such poor pay you make them welcome and they will be the same with use evening entertainment by tye animation team was good with a kids disco then entertainment for adults after it but maybe the could extend it alot longer but cant blame them for the hours they work abd they do alot to keep the kids happy this resort is mainley for kids under the age of 11 there is a night club on the resort for the 18+ but it is rubbish mainley cds been played until the dj turns up who then mainley play russian songs but overall i liked it and will be visiting royal bay again as we made alot of friends with the staff and animation team who did look after us and made our time fun and had a great laugh with them hats off to moni michael and weasy from the animation team the three of them are brilliant and put alot of hard work into making this place really good for the kids and the adults aswell will be going back

Stayed here for two weeks with my family arrived at 2am bulgarian time was shown up to room and gicen bag of fruit. As we were tired I wanted to go straight to sleep. My bed snapped in half. Went down to reception to be told nothing could be done till morning. But as promised a new bed was was put in replacement about 10am next morning. Three days after my sisters bed broke and again this was sorted next morning. Russains were rude yes but i jyst returned the favour by being rude back. I will say it seemed russains were treated with more respect than us english. Lifts constantly breaking so be prepared if u on a high floor. Also being all inclusive you'd expect the bars to be attended. This wasnt the case the hotel is very under staffed. And snacks in the day were limited u had a choice of hot dogs or pizza nothing else. Right good points now.. food is repeated but you'll always find something to eat and remember your in bulgaria food isnt going to be spot on like english grub. The sea view is breath taking and makes up for alot of faults. And suppose u can't expect five star for what u pay. Rooms cleaned daily and the hotel itself its clean and in a beautiful location. Elenite is loverly and quiet and only a bus ride from sunny beach and nessebar. I personally wouldn't return to the hotel but the sea view is one like no other and elenite is loverly. I will be returning to Bulgaria again.

Lovely setting right on the beach, lots of swimming pools. Hotel clean and tidy and the waterpark is fantastic, thats the good part!........ Sadly the food was very repetitive and often not cooked properly stay clear of the burgers and it was always lukewarm. Entertainment in the evening was aimed at kids daytime activities were few and far between. The beach was ok but it has lots of rocks which hurt your feet and lots of seaweed! Lastly the english people we met there were lovely but we were a rare breed.......too many russians and too many wasps!...... That being said i still had a wonderful holiday but would not be in a hurry to return!

Reading some of the reviews, I can't believe they can say the food was good, food raw, hot food cold, cold food warm. I've been back for five days and i'm still awaiting results for food poisoning. It's an understatement to say some of the plates were chipped, even coffee mugs chipped. The rep said you don't have piping hot food in bulgaria but you expect it to be cooked, part cooked warm it's a breeding ground bacteria. Yes the resort was good as it was a gated site, views overlooking the sea great, but some poor family will get the view of the cliffs with the rubbish dump. A real strange smell when you first enter hotel but as the week went on you didn't notice it. Pool bar being English you had to wait, speciality coffee with at least 5 wasp's in it. Main bar was better and the staff were more friendly. Lifts hit & miss, stair/fire doors broken on floor 4. Maid service good as she could see we were ill and she was concerned about my son.

Room Tip: Choose a lower floor if you don't if you like walking up and down stairs.

I have just had a great 2 weeks at The Royal Bay Hotel after being apprehensive when I read the reviews which after going there myself, think they were a bit harsh. We started with a golf buggy ride from drop off point to hotel which was a nice touch. Check in took a while due to staff not speaking very much English. Once we got to our (quite spacious) room, the view from our balcony was exceptional. I have stayed in more expensive hotels with less of a view.
Staff.........Most were very friendly with the odd 1 or 2 not very pro English, mainly the barman who dressed in black(nicknamed Jonny Cash) he didn't seem to like serving anybody especially kids, Ivan on the other hand was an absolute diamond, along with Catalina the guest relations lady who was very helpful. The animation team, although not professionals, were very good at what they did. The cleaners worked very hard all day. Our room was very clean with fresh towels daily. The restaurant staff worked hard but in my opinion, there needed to be more of them to clear the tables faster..
Food........Not as bad as I was expecting, I am a fussy eater but there was always something I liked, but it could`ve been a bit hotter and meat cooked a bit longer. Many reviewers moaned about having to drink juice from a beaker, if that`s your big complaint, well......enough said. If you`re thirsty you would drink from almost anything. Having said that, a few more cups, glasses etc wouldn't go amiss.
Pool.......Not much to say, it was fine apart from not enough sun umbrellas for the amount of loungers.
There could have been a bit more to keep kids entertained in our hotel as all entertainment was at service centre and a snack bar within the hotel would have been nice it was quite a walk especially for small kids. Overall though we found the whole complex very pleasant.
I think that at one time the Royal Bay Hotel was quite a grand hotel that has, unfortunately, been allowed to slip a little but, with some tlc it could be grand once more

Room Tip: ask for sea view as they`re stunning. The alternative is a cliff not 10 metres away

This is a great place to stay, what a lot of nonsense people talk. We loved it. Views were amazing. Water park was great. Food is fine, different but that's what going on holiday is all about. Loved it.

Room Tip: Pay for a sea view, it was fantastic morning and night to look at the fantastic. Views.
