“WOW! I mean, WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

My wife and I just spent 6 days with the fabulous staff at Rancho Pacifico. It was like a dream. We were upgraded to a treehaus, where we slept amongst the clouds and the wildlife. We awoke each day and fell asleep each night to the sounds of the jungle and let me assure you, you are in the jungle! We had howler monkeys climb a tree right next to our deck and toucans flying all over the jungle and into the resort. It's quite amazing how the hotel is built amongst and in the forest.

Things we did:
Hike within Rancho Pacifico--take the hike to the waterfall and dont be afraid!

Surfing (you must call Uvita Surf and ask for Tito-) He had my wife and I surfing within 15 minutes of getting into the water.

National Geo. River tour--a must do: we saw crocodiles, river otters, tons of birds and monkeys. It is non stop wildlife!

Yoga: Great Yoga Studio in Dominical--we did a candlelight class and enjoyed it so much we went back the following day for a daytime jungle yoga class.

Rancho Pacifico Spa: We each had multiple massages at the resort. They were world class. Amazing massage and amazing value. Don't pass on the spa.

Beaches: There is so much coast line that the beaches are not crowded. Bring a towel, drive right up on the beach, park under the trees and relax....

In between our adventures, the staff at Rancho Pacifico was always there. Anything we needed or asked for was taken care of with a smile. The food is amazing, all fresh, local, organic and made to order. My wife is a vegetarian and she had no problems whatsoever.

All in all this was exactly what we hoped it would be. My wife and I spent quality time together in a very romantic, private setting. The staff was present but not intrusive-a perfect blend of caring and letting us be. We are home now for 3 days and miserable! We need (not want) to go back now! Anyone considering this type of vacation needs to go to Rancho Pacifico. You will not be disappointed.

Once you get there(after a couple of miles of winding, unpaved, road off the main highway)you are greeted with a visual paradise, with accommodating staff upon arrival and throughout our experience. Rancho Pacifico is a property with a variety of accommodations, and a hub bar/dining area that is the focus of evening activities. My partner and I spent about a week at the resort a couple of weeks ago in a terrace suite, with an outdoor screened wall. Listening to the wildlife during the day and particularly at night, put us literally in another world from our homes in Southern California. It was/is in the rainy season, with highly unpredictable weather. Many of our daily activities could be accessed from the property(you still have to go up and down the road) with their designated transportation or as we did, rent an SUV. We felt some independence in traversing the environs that way. Rancho Pacifico allowed us the opportunities to explore activities off site activities for the day or just hang out at the resort to have a massage or hike the local trails to a nearby waterfall(not for the faint of heart). The memories of our experience are indelible. You just have to try it!

This place is amazing! From the natural scenery to the fantastic staff, Rancho Pacifico is a little piece of paradise. My sister-in-law had her wedding there in June and it was such a magical event. The staff went above and beyond to make every moment memorable not only for the bride and groom but for the entire wedding party!

There is so much natural beauty surrounding you at Rancho Pacifico that even on a cloudy day, you are sure to enjoy the many amenities offered, such as the amazing spa services or an exciting hike to a nearby waterfall. We definitely took advantage of it all.

We loved our time spent in the rainforest and if another Costa Rican vacation comes our way, we will definitely be visiting Alex and the rest of the amazing staff at Rancho Pacifico!

I just got back from a destination wedding at Rancho Pacifico and it was one of the best vacations ive ever had. The staff was amazing. They do whatever it takes to accomodate their guests. Any time I requested something they delivered or responded with, "you can have whatever you want" or "you can do whatever you want". They want to keep their guests happy, and with a wedding party of 20 people, being able to keep everyone happy isnt easy, but they pulled it off. The landscape and views were beautiful. It was very peaceful but when we wanted to have fun we would head to the clubhouse for cocktails, music, and dancing. The food and drinks were excellent. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and modern. You could stay at the hotel and relax, or go out for some excursions and fun. Anything you want to do they will make it happen. I had no worries the entire vacation and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great escape.

Room Tip: Every room is beautiful. There is no need for a/c as the rainforest keeps you cool, and the sounds o...

I have been on many vacations and have attended many weddings! The stay at Rancho Pacifico made this week long wedding adventure, the best wedding and trip I have ever been on! My best friend from college was getting married and booked the wedding along with 20 of us to go on a week long excursion in Costa Rica to celebrate! We arrived at Rancho Pacifico during the night so we did not know the true beauty of the area until the morning. The staff welcomed us and made us feel right at home. They were friendly and were so helpful helping our party of 20 people and their luggage get to each of their villas! The food was impeccable and fresh ingredients made each dish rich with flavors of the rain forest! The Exec Chef of the resort, Alex became a friend to us all and told us about Costa Rica and all the different excursions available by the best tour guides and coordinated for all of us to go on each one including lunch, transportation and everything in between that we would have never thought of. He and his staff were great. The resort itself was beautiful, comfortable and the most relaxing atmosphere. The spa tranquil was by far the most relaxing massage I have had in a long time. I usually get massages 3-4 times a month so I am no novice to a deep tissue massage and becuase of the setting and the view from the spa room this was by far the best massage. The wedding day festivities at the club house were coordinated with out a hitch. Alex and his staff worked together to put this wedding on and it was beautifully set up. They drained the pool and the couple were wed on the steps infront of the rest of the group! The pictures came out exquisite! Thanks to Rancho Pacifico and the staff who went above and beyond our group was completely happy and content the whole time!~

We did not stay at Rancho Pacifico, but we did drive up the mountain for hot stone massages and dinner. The drive up is a little challenging, but the view is beautiful once you arrive. The staff was waiting for us when we got there, and we had massages in the outdoor cabanas. They offered us hot tea and a relaxing rest before and after.

Our dinner afterward was truly delicious. We chatted with the bartender who was friendly and informative, answering all my questions about Costa Rican life. When we sat down to dinner in their gorgeous outdoor eating area, a large storm began to brew and the staff jumped up to secure protection from the wind and rain. We felt special and well cared for from beginning to end. Even if you're not staying there, make a spa appointment and enjoy the experience.
