You kinda bounce up the road for about 10 minutes thru the jungle and maybe start to wonder what you've got yourself into, don't worry. Of course you've seen the photos and checked the website, TA, etc. if you've got a room booked here, so you kinda know what to expect.
That being said, all the internet-ing in the world can't prepare you for the feeling when you walk over the painted Boruca mask and head up the stairs to reception area.....It's a bit overwhelming when you see where you're going to stay. Adam will hand you a Jaguar-colada and you'll walk over by the pool and take in the view and you'll notice you're smiling like a kid who just got everything he asked for for Christmas.
There's only 6 Villas. Once you start to get used to the pool zone, you'll sooner or later head to your Villa and your jaw will hit the floor again. The villas are again, totally cool. Minimalist (I guess) but super comfortable. Floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the amazing view. Balconies stretch the length of the room with two comfy chairs & a hammock to relax in. A great place to sip coffee in the AM before you head up to breakfast. You'll probably be joined by a few toucans, which shouldn't be a nuisance.
Food. Breakfast=Amazing. Lunch/"Bocas" by the pool=Amazing. Dinner=Super romantic and yes, amazing. I could write a detailed review of each meal...David, the chef knows what he's doing, just trust me.
Staff. Incredible. Attentive to everything, but not annoying. We've been twice to Kura now and it's so nice to see the same smiling faces and Pura Vida from everyone. Book a massage Adriana. Just do it. The spa. Ahhhh the spa. I felt like kind of a jerk getting a spur-of-the-moment foot massage from her by the pool one afternoon....but....after seeing my wife get one...I had to do it.
Uvita is an amazing little town with fewer gringos than most beachy spots we've visited in Costa Rica (check my reviews if you want some food tips in town). The problem here is, once you're at the hotel, finding reasons to leave is difficult. Very difficult.
Alejandra & Martìn have done something amazing on a hilltop in the middle of the rainforest. The architecture/design is so so cool. The views are stunning. You're whole stay will seem like a dream.
If you're lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay here....go for it. You'll never forget it and you'll want to get back as soon as possible.
