“Most Beautiful But Isolated Temple”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Behind the parking lot of Mahabaleshwar and Panchganga temples there was a trail of one half a kilometer leading to moss laden Hemadpanti Krishnabai temple . Stone carved columns and ceilings were the special characteristics of this temple . There were one Shivling and an idol of Krishnabai . There was a perennial stream of water coming out from a stone cow head which was gathered in a neatly built stone tank and from where the flowing stream was identified as Krishna river .

From the perphery of the temple Sharlina and myself enjoyed the beautiful green Krishna valley and the clearly visible Kate's , Elephat's head and Needle points.

“The Old & Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

Overlooking the picturesque Krishna valley at a very short distance from the Panchganga temple is the neat, clean and beautiful Krishnabai temple.A 13th century temple is in ruins. A Krishnabai or a cow head is carved in stone of the columns & the ceiling . This is supposed to be the source of five Deccan rivers: Krishna, Koyna, Venna, Savitri and Gayatri. The temple has a Shivalingam and a beautiful statue of goddess Krishna. .

Most of the carvings of this temple have faded but the beauty remains. This temple is worth visiting from both historical, aesthetic and religious purpose.
