Strengths

1. Convenient location if travelling by Neeta Volvo since buses terminate and originate from the hotel gate.
2. Sprawling, spacious and serene location, yet Old Mahableshwar Market is quite nearby - just a couple of minutes walking distance.
3. Only vegetarian food prepared on premises, with Jain option for most dishes.
4. Good gardens and plants outside our room on ground floor - room no. 302. We can step outside and enjoy and soak in the atmosphere - clean air and surroundings.

Weaknesses

1. Poor package planning and lack of waiting facilities - In a package, when we reached the hotel at 6am by Neeta volvo, we had to wait it out without proper waiting room facilities till 9am for other guests to check out. The toilets near the entrance were horrible. The waiting area is not clean and not at all well kept. No welcome tea or coffee. The receiving staff were rude and unreceptive - they badly need training in hospitality.

2. Unhygienic bathroom, unclean surfaces, missing tiled area, no hot running water in taps, hot water only from 6:30 am to 12:30 am, defective plumbing - had to request repair for hot water.

3. Severe cockroach infestation.

4. Unclean pillow covers - they were not changed upon our check in.

5. Insufficient bedsheet and towels provided - although we were charged for 4 persons, only two turkish towels were provided in the room. Bedsheet and towels we had to request for them to provide.

6. Food served without much healthy options - no salads or juices. Majority Indian and Gujarati dishes served were oily with vanaspati/ghee/butter etc. We wouldn't have survived a stay longer than our 3D/2N package without falling sick.

I would like to share my experience with Neeta bus & Neeta shantivilla, Mahabaleshwar.
BUS:
I booked my trip to Mahabaleshwar & traveled on 28.4.11 by Neeta travel bus no. 3233 & returned on 02.5.11, bus no.3132. While going we booked & specified our seats K&L, considering the health of my wife, and also Neetabus confirmed the seats via SMS, but was allotted to others without informing us. Upon asking about a change, Mr. Aziz or so told me that the bus is changed. I cant understand, how the seat nos. change when I got the SMS from Neeta for the same bus no.? This is highly unacceptable.
While returning, the flaps on the a/c blowers were broken and force of direct air spinned our head. Later the cleaner covered it with a towel. Is it fair on Neeta's part, to take such a funny shortcut? That too when you boast about your so called new Merc. buses? I have taken photos, if you wish, can mail you too. Sound of DVD was poor, Only one TV on the front was for display for the entire bus passengers!!! The passengers at back shouted too much about another TV & the sound, but you people know very well about your staff, so nothing to say more!
Certainly I can NOT recommend others. Finally Neeta should try to improve the quality of fleet as well as the attitudes of their staff. That’s all.
HOTEL :
Actually I wanted to suggest "Neeta" mgmt. but they haven’t kept the column (cleverly) for the complaints and suggestions.
1. They book the package but leave deserted once we reach there. The check-in time should be convent to the tourist, not to the Neeta's hotel mgmt. It was quite embracing scene, like refugees came for shelter, right from morning 5 am. to 8.30 am. we all tourists were scattered everywhere. Of course, we were served tea etc. and informed to take our breakfast, but how one can have it unless getting fresh.
2. Sightseeing - Neeta collects for the complete package, but they have one ANKIT TRAVELS in Mahabaleshwar. They show only what they want to and whenever they want to, no one is bothered to hear your request, neither Neeta nor Ankit. Either you follow what they have decided or forget your money; they don't give concession or refund. Forget about customer satisfaction!!! What is that?
3. Heavy leakage from the toilet, in my room. Leakage starts when flushed after use. I informed to the concerned people to repair soon possible, but neither it was repaired nor we were shifted to another room (due to peak season), till we left the place after 3 days. I have a photo to submit to Neeta mgmt. They told, they will be able to repair only after the peak season will be over. Just think about the hygienic condition.
4. Swimming pool - I planned to bath as much as possible, but looking at the color of water, I did not dare to use during my stay. I observed that it was not cleaned since days!!!
5. Good things - lower cadre staff were quite polite. Food good for Gujarati & veg. people only. evening milk, different shows for children.

There are many worst experiences we had with this hotel but let name a few....

We had an advance booking done with this hotel... On the day of our arrival we were given a room which had cockroaches running everywhere, smell of cigarette was there, the washroom was pathetic... We thought that something was fishy, since we had paid Rs.3000per day. It was only after I shouted at the Staff, they gave us another room.

Next comes the peace which everyone expect at a hill station and this hotel was like a fish market. Inspite of many copules residing there, hotel gave accomodation to 150 school students which made our night life disgusting. Those students used to scream, shout, dance hence disturbing the peace in the surrounding.

Best to name this hotel is "ASHANTI VILLA".
And one who wants to live within a fish market then this is the best hotel to reside..
