“Convenient......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Typically Gujarati place near the market. Don't expect too many thrills but over all decent place.

May family around so expect kids running around in the hall ways. In case you are a light sleeper beware as the noise penetrates the doors of the room.

If you are with kids they will like the small garden and some entertainment the hotel provides

Over all, the location makes it a good choice for a decent place.

I booked two rooms for my family. It was the worst rooms we ever stayed in any Hotel, the manager at the restaurant and receiption are very arrogant , the mumbai booking office should take action immediately.overpriced as compared to the condition of room. the manager at receiption did not give receipt for the extra breakfast we had apart from the package. phone in the room are not working , the condition of the toilets in the room is soo bad it cannot be explained . AVOID STAYING AT HOTEL RAJESH.

Room Tip: avoid this hotel , room are very bad and overpriced ( Non Ac rooms)

The place is nice and easily accessible, close to the bus stand. The food is good and served with warmth. The area is spacious and children can enjoi playing around. The rooms are dimly lit and the bathrooms can do with an upgrade -- a little too dark and old style. The place has hired some entertainers in the evenings and the shows aregood and well enjoyed.

Room Tip: The place ie overall very good and the views are good form the inner side rooms - rooms facing the c...

This is a Lodging and boarding type place on the expensive side for the comforts you get. It is primarily for folks looking to eat Gujarati food at least twice a day everyday of their stay. So naturally, most of the residents are Gujaratis or from Mumbai. Also, the pricing is such that lodging alone is less optimal than food and lodging. Hotel is unique in that, you get hot water only till about 9am in the morning and the check-in and checkout time are around 8.00 - 8.30am, primarily to suit bus-travellers from Mumbai. We dont know if that is the norm in Mahabaleshwar.

It is well located for taxi rides and is next to a very nice park. It has a sports room for children to play table-tennis or carroms. Kids have a nice play area but need to be supervised. On average, the staff are quite responsive except at lunch when it is terribly crowded.

The quality of Gujarati food served was an algebraic variable. Some days it was very good and some days some items were average and oily. They do have south-indian snacks at breakfast.
We found the hotel a bit expensive. I mean, if we compare it with a similarly priced one in Goa this one in Mahabaleshwar was definitly not in the same league, nor as well maintained. At Rs 7000/$120 a day (including food) one has high expectations which it did not match up to at all. But there are not too many alternatives in Mahabaleshwar unless you have a car of your own or have a genuine reference.

Room Tip: Pick a room close to the pool and upstairs.

Hotel Rajesh is right at the heart of Mahabaleshwar. Such a convenient location. Food is excellent and service was very good. The hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. The room was in excellent condition and maintained well. house keeping was good. Surroundings are also good. Ideal for families. Shopping area as right behind the hotel. Only problem was the breakfast timings was a bit to early when one is on vacation. Even the hot water service was available only from 7-10 in the morning. Hotel should improve this as during cold seasons Hot water timings is too less .
No complains about the food at all.. Awesome service and quality of food. Overall enjoyed my stay.

We stayed in Hotel Rajesh from 22 Dec 12 to 25 Dec 12 in a mid-category AC rooms with bath tubs...We were 14 of us with 4 family rooms booked

Rajesh is one of the oldest hotels in Mahabaleshwar mainly known for its great location which is close to the market and for its great food. Being it very old...the rooms really need renovations and we were disappointed with its worn out interiors...

Breakfast was superb with nice spread..but taste of lunch and dinner was Ok although the spread was good. This is my family opinion and not of mine alone...The hotel needs to revive its old food quality

Service of people is really nice and we were very happy about it...they even helped us with hot water at 12 in the night when one of our families reached the hotel...they met our every need with a happy face...

So we rate this hotel nice....but would be more happy with rooms getting better...cheers...happy holidays

Hotel Rajesh is right in the heart of Mahabaleswar. The rooms are pretty good and the food is excellent. The hotel staff is very helpful and attend you promptly. The Mahabaleswar market and the lake are within walking distance from this hotel. The hotel has a small swimming pool and a gymnasium as well.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the front... eg... 36 to 40...
