“Soothing and relaxing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights. The place is awesome with beautiful views and full characteristics of a resort. The Fun zone offers all day recreational activities for those who want to be just there. When we were there it was raining and the overall climate was just perfectly romantic. Spa is good and the resort staff are more than ready to help you and always humble.

Negative - the resort is far from town so for everything from market you need to hire a taxi. Would suggest not to stay here if you do not have your own conveyance, but often good resorts like this are isolated from main city.

Also the food, we had buffet for the meals, would appreciate the choice available in the buffet..n number of things..taste average...and for all the meals we had there there nothing that we wanted to taste again and again. A little over priced also.

Except these two things our stay was perfect. Like to specially mention the front desk Manager Ms. Gauri for making our stay pleasant.

Room Tip: Room towards the pool have a better view!

Very good resort. But food quality is average, can be improved. At night, insects make lot of noise. That should be taken care of. Big resort. Many games. Near to market. Liked it. Good service. Children enjoy.

Room Tip: Do not take near pool. Frogs make too much noise.

Had a stress free 275kms, five hour drive from South Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar via the Mumbai – Pune expressway except for the heavy vehicles which now insist on sticking to the right. Picked up the essentials from the market (3kms) and checked into a newly refurbished spacious one bedroom apartment with a nice tiled patio, just above the spa.
The reception / check-in team (Gauri & Nilesh) are superb. Ten minutes, one welcome drink and two rooms later we had plonked ourselves in 502.
A good corner room with lots of privacy, dense foliage, big patio, split air conditioner, electric kettle for tea / coffee, mini fridge, big flat screen, large bathroom (with two guest umbrellas….Thoughtful) a good pressurized shower head and complimentary nightly orchestrated cacophony by assorted fauna. That’s the good part.
For a resort under renovation some of these blunders are inexplicable.
The quality of mattress was really poor and it affected the sleep quality (way too soft, no support) No cupboards in the room! They gave one closet in the bathroom but the humidity made it redundant, extra pillows and blankets were stored there. Great planning! The plumbing seems ill planned, the bathroom stank, the basin kept choking, and there was no door to the shower cubicle just a half, glass partition. The fixtures already showed age and the tiles had fungus in the grouting. Overall the house keeping is superficial, not with a view to actual maintain sanitization.
The restaurant is adequately spacious and well laid out, offering all sorts of mixed packages for buffet buffs. Personally, I don’t care much for pre-prepared, re-cycled food, sitting on burners so as usual it was À la carte. At the end of our third meal the Achilles heel was obvious, barring the egg station and South Indian cuisine the rest is slapstick concoctions with no culinary base. Sure the pricing is not cheap, but overall it is better value compared to the unregulated stuff dished out in the market eateries.
The resort is well spread out and offers a great sense of leisurely relaxation amid dense flora and fauna. Ideal place to unwind and de-stress, a place to spend quality time without any agenda. Then there is the spa, the pool, the recreational centre and the usual Club Mahindra bouquet of activities with its legendary customer care and PR. A really nice property in the lap of nature.

Room Tip: Old cottage rooms

Was there from 15th June, the rains were already in full bloom. Atmosphere was great.
The room had a window AC which was quite disturbing, moreover renovation was going on in the room nearby which added to more sound pollution. Hot water is for limited time, so you have to plan your bath. But the restaurant was my main grouse, as a rule I always have at least one breakfast and a meal at all club resorts, and have been pampered most times, here it was a total let down, the menu planning to quality of food was a disaster, I have a doubt that left over sabudana khicdi from breakfast was converted into saudana tikki for lunch, none of the restaurant staff was even interested in the diners. To top it there is no other food outlet inside 4 km.
That said the reception staff was very courteous.
But I will definitely not visit this resort again.

Room Tip: Watch out for renovations, and also check if your room has a split AC.

We were at Club Mahindra Mahabaleshwar in June, may be within first 2 weeks on Monsoon arrival. This property is approx 3 KMs away from City, and nicely surrounded by greenery, trees and plants all over. You get to hear different birds chirping, and frogs sound. Clouds and fogs would never leave you. Wonderful time of the year, if you want to enjoy nature at its best. Usual activities and food is available in the resort, nothing great about it. There are several points around Mahabaleshwar but this is not the right time to go to these points like if no Sun then what would you see at sunset point.
Must take out some time to see local market and specially have strawberry in cream at Strawberry Den fast food at the heart of the market.

Room Tip: Rooms facing swimming pool in the main building are good.

I rate five here due to the location of the resort. the resort has an average swimming pool,a good restaurant,a spa and fun areas though Sherwood is below CM standards it has a high occupancy according to the CM staff. My trip to Sherwood was neither good not bad.It is a fine haven for mumbaikars.

Considering it is one of the recent acquires of Club Mahindra; the property and service still needs the uplift which is very much required by Club Mahindra Members.

The property is well located; calm and quiet. It has view of the dense forest around which makes you forget all stress and worries in life. They have various types of apartments starting from Hotel Unit, Studio, 1BR and 2BR. Please mind the renovation work is still going on so you will find yourself ending up testing most of these finished work. We were staying in 2BR. This is an independent bungalow (some also call this cottage). The rooms are big enough; though we found it is too big for family of 4 (2 Adult, 2 Child). The rooms are not child friendly so please take care of the same especially the staircase.

As the room has forest trees around; you will often find flies, bugs in your room. Kids (if not familiar to insects) might find it scary. The room was recently renovated and I must say that the interior designer did not do a good job. The room looks tasteless; and also the overall experience in the room was not pleasant. The only 2 good things in the room was Daikin A/c & Sony TV.

The room does not have kitchenette; however in our room there was a tea maker, microwave & fridge. For food you have to either go to restaurant or order food. Either place, we found service to be below standards. The room service was not up to the mark especially when you are being charged at par with other Club Mahindra properties which was 10 times better in all aspects.

There are only 2 things you do in Mahableshwar - Visit Points OR Visit Strawberry Garden. We found the places are not so tourist friendly. But again if you don't do this...then why are you in this place.

Overall had some good and quality time with family!!!

Room Tip: Check rooms with Forest View; but keep in mind more close to forest means more insects in the room.
