Me and my husband go to Goa every January. We usually stay for 4-6 weeks. Whilst over there in 2012, we visited 16 Degrees North to look at the rooms in anticipation of booking 5 weeks for January 2012. At that time the hotel was just newly opened. We very much liked what we saw and we booked a room for 5 weeks commencing 17 January 2013. We were dubious about staying for so long in a small hotel but we need not have worried. From the moment we arrived Carol and her staff were most welcoming. Our room overlooked the river at the front of the hotel and it was absolutely beautiful. There was a big bed covered in crisp white sheets and duvet, a flat screen TV with loads of channels, Fridge, Tea and Coffee and the bathroom was very modern with good lighting, marble decor and a huge mirror (along with clean white fluffy towels every day, not to mention little boxes of soap, shower gel, body lotion and shampoo). We asked whether we could buy or rent a DVD player. No sooner said than done, the Manager lent us his for the duration of our stay. We were offered several complimentary meals and were invited the the hotel's first anniversary party, given by the owner. It was a lovely evening with great food all complements of the hotel. On Valantine's Day the rooms were decorated with roses, rose petals and balloons. Just another of the hotel's attention to detail to make all of the guests so welcome. I cannot speak highly enough about all of the staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Sheilesh (we called him Shameless), Ashton and Praveen (we called him Mark - at his suggestion) were really friendly and found nothing too much trouble. How Shameless put up with my husband's fussy breakfast requirements, I do not know. Both Carol and Reagan were always friendly and extremely helpful. The Hotel itself is really nicely decorated, modern and clean. Food is good and if you don't like Indian, the chef will alway try to accommodate your English tastes. I read that someone complained that the lift did not work. In all of our five weeks, we had no problems with the lift at all and considering we are both 60 and were on the third floor, we needed the lift believe me! There is some building work going on on the top floor, but the noise was not really a problem. Once new new suite is finished, it is going to be fantastic. All in all, this is a great hotel with great staff, we will have no hesitation in booking a further 5 or 6 weeks next year, in fact we can't wait.
