“Less Crowded, Good Location, Great People”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

The Hotel is situated at the end of Baga Beach along Baga River. The rates are competitive. The people working there are polite and helpful. The baga beach is less than 3-4 minutes walking distance. The large number of well know eating spots are close by. The staff are flexible in their approach. The breakfast served as a part of the room rent consists of a basic egg/toast style thing for continental and puri/sabji type for Indians. The area is very quite and peaceful, with no traffic noise etc. A very good value for money place.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

I have never had such a great and humbling service here than any other resort or hotel ever. I've had mixed views about this place due to some drawbacks of what I expect in a resort which I will go over, but man, the service here I must say really does make up for all of the shortcomings.

LOCATION: Possibly the best in the area. Plus their pitch, "By the River, by the sea" is literally what they mean. Every morning, you can watch the fishermen work on their boats and nets. So colorful and so peaceful. The sunrise and sunset here are both amazing.

ROOM: Contemporary. Nice decor. Had the basic necessities a tourist/westerner expects (flat screen tv, shower, flushing toilet, hot water, coffee machine, air conditioning, mini fridge) Even a safe. The safe was old school, you have a key instead of punching your code. The door was amusing. The door had a humongous padlock for the lock. Our actual room location (#2) where we stayed wasn't a great one cause it was right in front of what would be a water sewage so it smelled bad. But it didn't get inside the room. Just a nasty whiff when you pass by. The shower stall had no barrier on the floor so if you showered too long, the rest of the bathroom floor will be wet. The bed, a California king size, was super stiff!! Like sleeping on the floor. Oddly enough, I slept like a rock on it without any aches or back pains. Possibly because I was out and about during the day that I got myself so tired, I didn't care where I slept.

AMENITIES: Free Continental Breakfast here makes continental breakfast in the US look like a joke (which it is). No dry cereal, sour milk, burned coffee, boring yoplait yogurt here. It's a selection between masala scramble with toast, aloo paratha, or puri bhaji with chai. That's some serious breakfast. Kept me full for hours. All FREE! Room service was free and prompt, just drop your key at the front desk and they will take care of the rest. Laundry service was available and charming. They give you a slip, you list out your items (each item had a price), you give it to the staff, 2 days later, you receive it pressed, folded, and wrapped in newspaper. 15 pcs of clothing was about $3, and your clothes don't end up starchy and stiff.

SERVICE: In one word, impeccable. It was like staying at family's. They are intuitive with your needs and so friendly too. But not in a "butter you up/kiss my a.." kind of way. They were genuine, humble, and just wanted to make sure your stay was comfortable. We did witness an Indian tourist and his friends having a heated argument with the staff at the front desk but it really looked and sounded more like just a power trip than anything. Anyway, we came from the beach with sandy flip flops (chapuls) and left it outside our door. When we went outside, it was all clean. I guess they picked it up, washed and dried it for us and returned it to where they found it. They also let us use they're dining area (restaurant) upstairs to eat all our leftovers from all the other local restaurants we ate at. Not only did they reheat our leftovers, they provided the utensils, plates, beverage and candlelight. Of course we ordered a dish and tipped very well for our special request.

This is a place where I will definitely come back to.

The property is lovely with clean rooms.
Ideally located near the beach, river, shopping street, bus stop nd night market. Service in all departments needs to improve drastically. Staff has to be more hospitable, proactive and prompt when attending to guests. Breakfast offered was of low quality.
