“Cool place in Baga”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Stayed with family at Capt. Lobo's in a villa. It has a bedroom, hall, Pantry. I will not call it a kitchen as utensils , gas not available for cooking. Still good place to stay. Dire access to Baga beach. Food is average but there are many restaurants available on Beach road. I would recommend anyone this hotel.

Had been to captain LoBo's with a big family group of 15 ppl. Fantastic place. Lovely pool (small but clean), Value for money. Rooms are clean and decent and all the villas have a fridge which are stocked with Beer. As its about 200 mts from da beach hence its fun. It does not have its own restorant but lots of places nearby to eat so food is taken care off. Rooms are big (infact its like a suite) so extra beds can be easily accommodated. I would Recommend all to ask for the ground floor as you also get a small garden with it.
Overall a good budget hotel in a place like baga....

Its one of the shared property between CSM and Captain Lobo Hideaways. Not too far from main Baga road, its a good place to stay. Although reception is poorly managed but it is certainly a value for money. Villas are clean and spacious. You have a drawing room, bedroom and a kitchen. This property connects you to the beach (midway of Baga and Calangut). Once you ove out of resort, you have a shack nearby. This is not a private beach and you hardly get people out there. You need to book it in advance to get a confirmed booking. Though this is an old property but certainly a good choice for family :)

This is one of the best hotels to stay in Baga, Goa. The hotel is excellent. Its well maintained. Each of the accomodation is a villa in itself with a room, a bathroom, a mini kitchen, a balcony, a verandah. Each villa is neatly whitewashed and looks amazing. The hotel is a 1 minute walk to the Baga beach and is very well located and very well connected. The place is about an hour drive from Panaji and is located along the busy and famous Baga-Calangute road. Lately, the place was acquired by another hotel called Colonia Santa Maria but the property is pretty much the same. The food is great here and the rooms are very clean. The prices are quite okay. I remember paying approximately 2500 per room which houses 2 people and includes breakfast. I visited in the month of January. Of course, the prices might have slightly gone up by now, but still, this is a very decent place to stay. The staff is very good.

Room Tip: All the villas are excellent and are very well located. No disturbance whatsoever. if possible, ch...

Me and my husband stayed here for 2 nights. This place is near to the beach - about 5 min walk. The place looks quite old but the rooms and bathtrooms are quite clean, but the linen was slightly dirty. There is a small kitchen and sitting hall, but we hardly used it and the sofas in the hall were quite old. All in all, its a fine place to relax after one comes back from the beach.

Hey Guys, I have seen some bad reviews. Let me tell you for a budget resort on the happeneing part of Goa, this is OK.Please don't expect star hygeine and clenaliness, but it is not all that bad as some travellers have expressed. If you want to stay in most happening place in Goa for a budget, this is fine.

Yes you need to get the staff to do things as the intercoms dont work, the resturanat and bar is closed, but CSM resturamt is just there, so one should not be complaining and down the beach is Anthony's and down the main road is Lazy days with a pool table with great food.

There is no problem, people who complain should check into a 5 or 7 star which they cannot afford. They want budget rates and post lots of complaints.

I have been staying with Captain for the last 2 decades, service has dropped but we are at home there, it's just fine.

There is the Kerala Spa where we had a very good ayurvedic massage.

I just love this place.

This is the worst ever resort I’ve seen in my 10 years of frequent visits to Goa. We read so many good things on the website, but were thoroughly disappointed on actually seeing this place. The resort is built on open road, has no compound walls hence less security. At night we used to hear all kinds of anti-social elements right outside our door which was very close to the public road, and was not a very pleasant experience. The room was very old and dirty. Paint peeling off the walls, very dirty toilet, ants on the wash basin all the time, cobwebs over shower head and broken furniture in the living room. They had placed a cactus in the balcony which was full of insects and cobwebs. So balcony was practically useless because of this dirty plant. The swimming pool is a big disaster. Its not even a pool, they have uploaded photos on the website to fleece people. The pool is very close to the public road and has absolutely no privacy and forever covered with dried leaves and mud. The restaurant and even the bar is never operational. Don’t even expect to have simple beer sitting by the pool. There was a lady house-keeper and she was extremely rude. At the time of check-out, we were only 5 mins late and all set to move out, when we heard the bell ring and in a very annoying tone were told that other guests are waiting to check in at 1 Pm. Except for those whitewashed exteriors of the resort, I have nothing to write home about Capt Lobo’s beach hideaway. I have stayed in many better places and even at lower tariff, so I won’t recommend this resort to anyone.
