“The place to relax in the Pyrenees Region”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

The first time I came across Warrenmang was last year with my wife... we found it accidentally visiting different wineries in the region and to had dinner there. The restaurant is excellent and the quality of the food even better...And that’s without talking about the wine.

This year with my family we decided to stay there. Don’t expect to be staying in a luxurious hotel, because that is not the idea of the place. The hotel is beautiful, warm and cottages are designed to match what you are doing: Having a relaxing weekend in a Winery. The cottages themselves are very comfortable, clean equipped with almost everything a good hotel has except for a TV (which I agree, it’s not required). Whatever is lacking from a luxurious hotel, the people that work there (Kevin, Linda and Sony) make up for it... they make you feel like a King by taking care of you... nothing is a problem! Also for warm days you have a swimming pool available.

Our package included breakfast, which is a la carte with free coffee... really good :) However, I would recommend the Hotel including an option that does not contain egg (just in case).

We had dinner two nights there and enjoyed drinking a Sauvignon Blanc during the afternoon watching the Winery and the Pyrenees mountains (it has a great great view since it’s on a hill/mount). The wines are beautiful; I recommend the Shiraz and the Grand Pyrenees.

On Sunday you can have a tour around the Winery with Luigi, the owner... he looks really cool.

It is a place I would definitely return... at least once a year.

Room Tip: We stayed at 2 and 4, really good ones.

Take "that trip" away from the madding crowd to Moonambel.
Where? - near Avoca in the beautiful Victorian Pyraneese.
No television, no DVD ( unless you BYO ), just relaxing, walking, wine tasting, beautiful vineyards, sumptuous meals, being looked after, cute cottage accommodation overlooking the Pyraneese Hills. What more could you want for a relaxing 2 days of "getting away from it all"?
The restaurant provides a great range of splendid meals together with a range of recommended wines for each course. The folks here are friendly and the restaurant reflects the vintage of the best wines it sells in the bar and at the cellar door. Make sure you join in the winery tour conducted by the owner Luigi Bazzani - an in depth experience of vineyard culture, wine making and the decades of experience of this very talented wine maker. Leave room in your car to take a dozen home with you. Great relaxing weekend experience - well done guys and girls !!

Room Tip: Take a cottage overlooking the vineyard ( no 2 or 3 ) and sleep upstairs for the best experience.

Spent two nights at Warrenmang with friends. Had a fabulous time. We had every intention of looking around the district. It did'nt happen. We spent the whole weekend wining and dining on fabulous food and excellent wines. We were kept entertained by the most wonderful staff. They were a hoot!! The wine tour was very informative and our host very gracious. We were very lucky that a food and wine matching lunch was on the weekend we stayed. Museum wines were offered for tasting. The experience was unforgettable. Extremely generous, informative and a lot of fun. The food the wine the staff all excellent. The accomodation dated but very clean comfortable and a step back in time when things were a little simpler. All the usual things supplied hairdryer, iron toiletries. A generous stocked minibar. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask when booking to recomend what suits you.

We wanted a getaway not far from Melbourne.
The views from our chalet, the restaurant and the walk to the top of the hill behind the resort were fabulous. After a walk, I had a hot tub and had a great yarn with some delightful fellow guests.
Dinner at 8pm started with a few glasses of the Salute sparking wine which was fresh, light and very moreish.
Our meal was also very good. I had the shrimp and scallop entree, my husband the duck. The main meals didn't disappoint either. The pork belly was the best I have had in ages! Try the cheese platter. It was nice to be provided with enough homemade Lavosh that I could enjoy all the cheeses.
Add in a great nights rest, some star gazing and a wine tour with the very knowledgable owner Luigi and I feel all brand new ready for another week at work.
The chalets are comfortable and slightly dated but clean and quiet. I like this place it would be great to take my mountain bike back and explore the state forest trailers behind the resort. This is exactly what we intend to do.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the vines have the nicest views.

We spent 2 nights using a groupon voucher which was remarkable value. We upgraded to a cottage and we had a lovely view of the dormant vineyard (would love to see it in summer). Our cottage was clean and comfortable (no tv) but we took our portable wifi was worked well.
We had 2 wonderful dinners in the restaurant. The atmosphere and the staff were excellent. There were about 5 different options each for entree, main and desert. I like that as sometimes it's hard to choose. The duck, pork belly, barramundi and steak were beautifully cooked and presented. The deserts were dreamy and husband enjoyed the cheese platter on both nights. Also the wine was very good. We will definitely be visiting again.

A delightful weekend was spent at Warrenmang Vineyard and Resort. We enjoyed the lovely setting amongst the vines and bush. Our rustic cottage was comfortable although disappointing not to have a view of the vines and across the valley. We did make sure we enjoyed a soak in the hot tub which had a superb view which at sunset was stunning. The cottage could do with more rugs on the floor as in winter the slate floor is very cold. Also, the lighting was not good if you enjoy a read in bed. The restaurant (we had breakfast and dinner there) was excellent, catering for gluten free - and even the gf bread was good! The dinner menu was not extensive but the food was very good. We did not take adavantage of the swimming pool ( too cold, but would be good in summer) or tennis courts but did enjoy walking in the bushland and vineyards and also the vineyard tour. Warrenmang was also a good base to explore the local area including the attractive towns of Avoca and Dunolly and Kooyoora State Park and Melville Caves. Staff were friendly and helpful.

5 star prices for 2 star accommodation left us very disappointed. The rooms are very tired, basic and run down. Our shower wouldn’t spray and we had to dismantle the head and clean it to have a shower. Tiles were falling off the shower wall and the 1980s timber décor and fittings are stained and in dire need of maintenance. No internet in rooms, no TV (not that that’s what you go for) in fact no mod cons or luxuries at all. The door to our balcony was jammed shut, the list goes on, you get the picture. Their web site paints a very different picture.

On the up side, the rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant food is very good, (though frightfully expensive, as is the wine.) The wine tour is informative, interesting and generously long. The location for touring the local wineries is ideal.
The place needs a massive injection of funds for maintenance, or they need to drop their prices (and description) to more accurately reflect the standard of accommodation.
