“Long, lazy Sunday lunch in great surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

Family 40th wedding anniversary with 14 month old toddler. Very relaxed atmosphere, if a little noisy due to hard surfaces. Comfortable seating, excellent wines (try the Blanc de blanc sparkling as an aperitif. Service efficiency and friendliness was faultless.
Local smoked trout with whisky cream sauce was brilliant as was the Ham hock terrine. Main of slow cooked pork belly is not to be missed. Barramundi as well as Lamb mains were also excellent. Only let down was beetroot salad entree. Hand cut chips a winner! Wines were excellent if a little too heavily marked up over cellar door pricing. Treacle pudding ideal for Melbourne winter.

“A beautiful day out the glasshouse restaurant brings in the Australian garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012 via mobile

Firstly, their wines are excellent. I loved all of them and that's rare for me. Entree we had the Beef Capaccio, and the Pork Jowl. The pork was really tender with a crisp crust. The beef was tangy and blended perfectly with the horseradish cream. Main the wild rabbit was the winner. The BBQ corn, and roasted almonds topped the rabbit wrapped in prosciutto. We had the steak medium rare. We also tried the Cous cous with baked fig and goats cheese this was amazing. Dessert - Eton Mess and a cheese platter. It was all lovely and we will be back. There was only a few things that didn't meet the standard. The service was slow to begin with but that did improve. The steak was good but it was served with McDonald's fries and at $39 that was a poor effort and went against their philosophy of home grown vegies. The other sting was the wines were considerably more expensive than the cellar door I found this a bit rich being they don't have any handling costs and the staff did not serve the wine for you. But overall I would recommend it.

“pleasant setting, quality food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

We had lunch here recently following a wine tasting, as part of the Melbourne food and wine festival. It was delicious food (entree of ham hock terrine with a flavoursome chutney), main of salmon and garlic confit, and a poached pear with licorice ice cream. Might sound weird, but it worked. It's a very pleasant setting, with big windows looking out over a lovely garden. There was an outside rotunda with a backdrop of rolling green hills, and outdoors tables and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine prior to the meal. Bread was served free of charge and there was no hesitation when we asked for some more to go with the terrine. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. It was a really enjoyable lunch and we wouldn't hesitate to return.
