“Absolutely delightful in every aspect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

I'll admit to not being a wine buff in any way so to find myself in a restaurant in a Vineyard which does not sell beer was maybe not the best start to the evening. However I can honestly say that since arriving in Canada in November last year this was my best restaurant experience to date. The experience starts with the drive to the restaurant along a quiet road through the vineyards. Parking is easy and as you enter Terranfina through the heavy hardwood door the whole place exudes quality. A modern but beautifully designed building with tastefully exposed brickwork and vast hardwood structural supports to the vaulted ceiling. One wall is almost all glass doors opening onto a vine shrouded patio with a magnificent view of the Oliver Osoyoos Valley.

We were greeted by smiling staff, which I have come to expect in British Columbia and led to a delightful table the furthest from the patio but still with a great view. On discovering the lack of beer I was persuaded to try a local wine, although not one from this vineyard which only goes to show the confidence the owners have in their own wines which is renowned and I understand quite excellent. The following meal was absolutely in keeping with the whole experience. I had the home made Focaccia and spreads (a superb dried tomato tapenade, excellent artichoke and garlic aioli and a very nice mushroom bruschetta). Where possible all the ingredients I understand are personally selected from local farmers by the Chef and it shows. The main course was Crispy Duck leg on an Pasta Carbonara base, interesting I thought and it was. The duck was well cooked, not fatty and very tasty, could have been a bit crispier but I'm trying to find fault with a superb meal. The presentation was excellent and the serving staff all professional, very knowledgeable, genuinely interested and helpful. All in all an exceptionally pleasant evening in a highly recommended restaurant.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

After a cold, blustery, rainy, morning visiting wineries, we were ready to tuck into a nice bowl of hearty soup. Much to our surprise, a very large bowl arrived with the smallest scoop of soup possible. Luckily there was a piece of foccachia on the side. The soup was incredibly tasty but the most minute of portions.
Another server came over to ask how we were enjoying the meal, and we told her the soup was "moreish". We wanted more! She asked us if our server had informed us that the soup was just a "starter" size. She had not. If we had known this ,we probably would have left the restaurant. As it was the soup cost $8.50.
We will not return.

“Excellent wines, great atmosphere in tasting room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Have been many times and always enjoy the wines. The staff is knowlegable and don't rush you. Would recommend coming on a summer Saturday afternoon to enjoy live music on the patio. We have done that many times and brought our own picnic.

“Fabulous setting for wonderful lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

With this view how can you not enjoy lunch. We were lucky to get one of those fabulous warm spring Okanagan days and met friends for lunch. Terrafina set on the hillside amongst the vineyards is a fantastic place to enjoy a patio lunch on a sunny day in the Okanagan. The food is delicious and reasonably priced compared to other winery restaurants. The pizzas and unique and tasty. Try the Antipasti Platter with one of Hester Creeks excellent wines and just sit back and enjoy the view.

We did a kitchen pairing here and it was a fantastic experience. we normally travel to Napa and this was on par with there. The knowledge level was fantastic as was the wine. Will go back for sure!
