My wife and I thought we would try Oscar's as I have not been there for years and fancied trying somewhere new in our local area.
We were very pleased with the experience. The decor is lovely, we had great seats by the window.
We were greeted and very well looked after by our charming waitress (who I now understand to be the owner, judging from other reviews). Nothing was too much trouble (even with my random requests) and the customer service was second to none.
The food was superb. The selection was excellent and I loved the "steak board" which showed off all the locally sourced hand-cut steaks on offer - a great idea.
Starters were nicely cooked and flavoured (scallops, black pudding and king prawns for me, which was delicious).
Of course I had to have the steak and even if I do say so myself, that was a great idea! I had a lovely juicy T-bone cooked just as I like it (rare). Our host proved her worth again by looking after me and making sure it was cooked just to my liking. Chips were great, the side vegetables were perfectly cooked and the pepper sauce was superlative (just the right pepper heat).
In all I seem to be running out of words to be describing the positives of this restaurant.
I will sum up the food with a single word: yummy. We had a very pleasant evening indeed and I will certainly be going back very soon (possibly even tonight when the wife is away and I am let off the leash). Highly recommended.
