we stayed in one of the safari lodges which are lovely.great big bed with heated blanket.lovely big bathroom with underfloor heating.shampoo, soap and torches suppied but no hairdryer.
big fridge so you can take your own drinks and snacks.
hot tub is fab! but could do with a tempory cover over it when its rains so it can still be used if it rains.
the house itself is fantastic, the best food ive tasted in a long time and the staff are very friendly,so are the dogs.hoping to go back in a few years to see the new tents and the tea rooms.we were very glad it was adults only!!!!!!

The beautiful setting, friendliness and attention to detail is outstanding. The breakfast was amazing, so much to choose and fresh. I would have liked to have stayed longer and to have the opportunity to stay for dinner.

Highly recommended and hope to stay there again shortly

Bre, Graham and Linda are all great and mae us feel so welcome. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of bucks fizz and a beautifully laid out tray of coffee and homemade cake. We were then taken by golf cart o our safari lodge, no dragging heavy suitcases!!
Linda then gave us a guided tour of our lodge which was amazing, when i think of luxury i definatley think of Pentre Mawr!!!
We then spent the afternoon lounging around sipping champagne in our hot tub!!
Our evening meal was served in the main house at 7, the food was amazing!!! The wine even better. Coffee and a cheese board followed in the very elegant drawing room. One of the best nights i have ever had, excellant food, great wine and 5 star hospitality!!
We were so sad when we had to leave, and will be back again!
Thankyou for a wonderful anniversary :-)

Room Tip: Wonderful for couples wanting a romantic weekend.

An amazing experience from the moment you arrive!!
Met by a golf buggy as soon as you drive up for champaigne reception!
The owners are wonderful and nothing is to much trouble, even giving us a lift to the start of a fantastic walk!
The safari lodges have to be seen to be believed, they have to be the most amazing accommodation i have ever stayed in!! every detail accounted for. The hottub on the private terrace is fantastic!
If you are thinking about going, think no longer and book....you wont be disapointed!!
Many thanks for a wonderful stay!!

A big thank you to Brie, Graham and all the staff for our wonderful mini holiday. We went for my 40th birthday and I shall be making sure we return each year.
Pentre Mawr is set in a beautiful location with stunning views, on arrival we were greeted with champagne in the drawing room in the main house where we were immediately made to feel at home. The house is beautiful.
We stayed for 3 nights in what can only be described as pure luxury, the tent had everything and more and the hot tub was wonderful. I have always said I was a Hilton girl not a camper, this beats any 5* star hotel and the bathroom was bigger than our lounge!!!
The choice and quality of food was excellent, Brie you under estimated your talents in the kitchen!!!!
A few years ago we went to Dubai and thought the service there was outstanding; Brie and gang have matched it. Nothing is too much trouble.
We did not use Pentre Mawr as a base to travel around Wales, we didn't leave and spent the days relaxing in the private patio area and hot tub, however I was a bit concerned what we were going to do for lunch. I noticed a sign saying if you needed a pack lunch just let them know, so I asked for a pack lunch. Brie enquired to where we were going for the day, so we informed her we weren't going anywhere. "Don't worry" was her reply, "we will bring you lunch over to the tent" and what a lunch, a platter of cold meats, cheese, pate and selection of breads and crackers and a wonderful red wine. It was amazing!!! (We had this each day).
On my birthday we had a lovely afternoon tea at the house with champagne and a surprise birthday cake that my partner had organised and another reason why Pentre Mawr will also hold a place in our hearts is because we got engaged here!!!!! Once Brie had this news is was more champagne!!!!!
All of the staff were wonderful and work very hard to make you feel at home, thank you.
We left Penre Mawr feeling like we had been away for a fortnight, relaxed and ready to face the world again. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and was value for money.
Any disappointments? Yes 1 that we had to come home!!!!
Thank you to you all xxx

We said at Pentre Mawr in the Hot Tub Safari Tents for our 10th wedding anniversary and i would recommend to everyone. The owners Brie & Graham and all the staff make you feel very welcome from the moment we got there (even through we arrived early without prior notice) we were greated with a glass of champaigne and coffee and cake.
As we could not get in to the tents until 3.30pm we headed off to town, Lynda told us were to go for the best pubs and arrange the taxis for us.
The safari tents are second to none and if you are looking for that extra special weekend away then this is for you.
The tent did drop cold at night but there are plenty of fluffy blankets for you to snuggle up to.
We had lovely weather so sat most of our second day on the patio area we had and kept dipping in and out of the hot tub, be warned the patio are is a sun trap so if it has given out nice weather then take some sun lotion, it had given out to be 14 degrees and both me and my husband came back sunburt a little.
We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast rate, and all i can say about the food is that is execellant, 5 course meal for the £35 and it is worth every penny. The rack of lamb is a must.
The dogs are lovely my husband who does not like dogs must have played football with them for getting on for an hour.
The horse is great took him about 10 mins for him to come to me and he really does not like to be fussed, however if you have polos or apples he is your friend.
All in all i am a fussy person and if something is not right then i would say, but there truely is nothing i can complain about we are looking to book again for next year.
Brie, Graham and staff you made us feel very welcome thank you. x

Set in an area of designated natural beauty in the foothills of the Clwydian hills Pentre Mawr Country House has a lovely romantic feel to it...set as it is in nearly 200 acres of meadows, park and woodland. There are all the little extras that you would expect in a fine country house at Pentre but it is run on a much softer line. Meals are served either in the Oak room or the formal dining room but with none of the stuffiness. We are delighted to announce that we have received 5 Stars and a dining award from the AA There are two lovely sitting rooms all with comfy sofas and portraits of Graham's ancestors. The hidden walled garden is a lovely place to sit and read or just relax and smell the roses. We are more than happy to welcome guest dogs as we have two collies and two cats of our own here. ... more   less
