“One of the best steaks I have ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

I came to Russell's after walking the first section of the Great Glen Way from Fort William to Inverness. I was very fortunate to be able to get a table on a Saturday night.

I chose to have a Rib-eye steak cooked to medium, with hand cut chips, fried potato rings, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, with sauce. It was absolutely fantastic - steak cooked to perfection, wonderful mushrooms ( I am not a great fan, but these wet delicious), and excellent onions. My clean plate was a clear signal of my opinion.

Dessert was a Plum & Ginger pudding with sticky toffee sauce. Wow! Another all time best.

If you are near Fort William, you must try this place. The food rocks!

“Food delicious - But!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We decided to stay in Spean Bridge because of the reviews but were so disappointed. Booked a table or 7.30 and arrived early but was 8pm before we were shown to our table. Felt we were put at a small table in dark corner. Now the food was perfectly cooked apart from a side dish of new potatoes. The potatoes were badly under cooked and not edible. Our main problem, which totally wasted the meal, was the long waiting times before being shown to our table and the very long wait between courses. We gave up and missed dessert & coffee. Mentioned on settling bill and was told the long waits were on purpose! Why? So be aware as it might not worry others diners but not for us!

“Special & welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

My husband & I had a lovely traditional afternoon tea (2pm-3.15pm) with real tea & all the accoutrements. Sandwiches & scones delicious but pastries very special. We could not finish it all. Welcome very nice & hope to return to sample evening menu.
