“A delightful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

If you are planning a visit to the Stranraer area and the Rhins of Galloway is within your budget, do not hesitate - just book it. My wife and I have just spent 3 nights there and had a wonderful time. Rooms are spotlessly clean, breakfasts superb and you would be hard pushed to find more accommodating owners than John and Paul. Nothing is too much trouble to them. Friendly, helpful service is a given. Location is scenic, with an outlook over Loch Ryan from the front rooms. The room we occupied (room 9) was large and airy, with a cosy corner for watching TV if that's your thing. One possible word of caution, if you are a very light sleeper and easily disturbed by traffic noise, you might want to request a room away from the front. Fortunately this was not a problem for us as we are sound sleepers. Our ratings reflect this.
The Rhins is an ideal place for exploring the surrounding area, either in the direction of the Stranraer peninsula or towards Ayr. We thoroughly recommend the Rhins for a five star holiday experience.

We arrived after 9pm having driven from Heathrow after arriving from Canada. Everything was lovely with the owners being very helpful with luggage for 2 very tired travellers. Our room was a really good size with lots of room to spread out. The breakfast the next morning was very good and fresh cooked. We would recommend staying here especially for making connection to the ferry to Northern Ireland.

Could not fault the B & B, they try to think of everything, fresh milk in a flask for tea and coffee in the room, scissors to cut the ends of the coffee satches, cloth napkins on the table and face cloth in bathroom. Breakfast cooked to order and excellent, evening meals cooked fresh, and plentiful at a very good price. All in all they beat the pants off some 4/5 star hotels and I would have no hesitation about staying there again.

We booked two rooms consisting of one single and one superior double. My husband and i stayed in the superior room and the best way to describe it is WOW! It had everything needed from a king sizie bed with egyptian cotton sheets to comfy seats and fire place area to watchTV.Coffee,Tea &Hot Choc, fresh milk supplied in a flask,Biscuits, Bottled Water and chocolates.Bathroom had good size shower with toiletries, great towels and face cloths. The breakfast is cooked to order and while you wait you have a choice of cereal, toast, fruit juice and yoghurts.Tea & coffee served fresh. The owner of this beautiful place made us feel very welcome and did everything he could to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Small issue bathroom a little cold but this would not put me off staying here.

I stayed at the B&B for several nights whilst working in Stranraer on business. The rooms are very well appointed, comfortable and spacious. Very tasteful decor, with tea / coffee, biscuits and fresh milk all catered for. The breakfast was cooked fresh when ordered and really set you up for the day. The owners of the B&B also provide light meals in the evening up to 7.30pm which was ideal to come back from work and relax at the venue for the evening. Customer service was excellent operating on a friendly and helpful basis. When working in the area again Rhins of Galloway B&B will be my first choice.

Room Tip: Great rooms, spacious and well appointed.

Would recommend this b&b to anyone travelling to this area, the owners are friendly and great hosts, their attention to detail is wonderful, fluffy white towels, ultra fresh bed linen, a packed complimentary tea/coffee tray their breakfasts must be legendary and if not then why not? Unlike some b&b's or small hotels their guests needs come first, free WiFi, no bar or evening restaurant but can bring in your own dinner and wine and sit in their lounge to eat it (with NO cork-age fees), plates and cutlery supplied if needed. Quite simply this place is fabulous and it has a pretty interesting history as we'll, if you are ferrying to and from Ireland then add on an extra day or two and visitthis lovely b&b while you explore this area.

Room Tip: Loch view rooms and you do get a super view., no pool or fitness room but couldn't' until th...

We stayed here a night before catching the ferry to Ireland. The bed and breakfast was wonderful although we did not get a cooked breakfast they had made us a packed lunch for us leaving early the next day. The room had a jam packed hostess tray with different types of teas, coffees, hot chocolate even got "Border" biscuits. Fresh milk was given instead of the uht kind. The bedroom was lovely. The bed was sooo comfortable. Had a half bath and shower in the en~suite which was fine. The rooms were lovely and warm spotless clean. We got a nice friendly welcome. We were not expecting such a lovely place in the middle of nowhere. Please stay you wont be disappointed
