Joss Bay is a sandy beach which is very popular and gets crowded in good weather and holidays. Unlike some Kent beaches it is quite 'developed' with a Kiddies Play area (£4 per day or £1 for bouncy castles) a cafe and beach shop - had to wait +30 mins for chips - and deck chairs, wind breaks, and surfing equipment for hire. The car park is large but pricy. Facting the Channel rather than the Estuary it's windier and the waves can be large - hence the surfing. Surrounded by small white cliffs it's not unattractive but not v restful either. Ok but try to go when it won't be too busy. There are nicer beaches in Kent such as Minnis Bay and Reculver.
