“You get the WOW Factor here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We have stayed in a few different lodges in this area - with Hornsea Lakeside you defo get the WOW!! the lodges are VERY spacious everything you need even a washer/dryer - the upstairs bedroom can be a little strange the way the toilet is set out in the bedroom but by no means spoilt our break. The only difference between Hornsea L.side & the other parks we have stayed on is the grounds are not as established yet this again did not spoil our w.end as we went to chill out which is what we did. Hot tub is what we go for!!!
They even provide dishwasher tablets for your break there!!
Will defo be back at some point.

Room Tip: in the 2 bedroom lodge you get the lovely mezzanine level - in the 1 bedroom cottages these are much...

Just got back from a long weekend at Hornsea Lakeside Lodges. We stayed at number 8 which is a dovetail lodge for 4 ppl. We went as 2 couples aged between 24-27 and had the best time. I honestly don't know what previous reviews are moaning about? Did they not read the description or look at any pictures when they were booking? There's no pleasing some ppl. We on the other hand were very pleased. The lodge itself is spacious, warm, clean & modern. Staff were fine & friendly although we didn't need them for anything after check in so didn't really see them. The best part for us was by far the hot tub! it made our holiday we were in it several times a day right up until midnight on the saturday. As the lodges are spaced apart you cant hear anyone else and I don't think anyone heard us. Well nobody said anything if they did. We went in to Beverley on the saturday which is only about 30mins drive & is a lovely town. On the sunday we went to Bridlington which is ok, typical seaside resort really. Location of the site is perfect, far away enough to feel like your away from it all but only a short drive to all attractions and nearby shops. Thought the price was great aswell & we're already looking in to going back as soon as pos!

The lodges look great from the outside and the living space seems good at first glance. the hot tub (although a little too hot for me!) was large and fairly private. Nice en-suite bathroom with his and hers sinks and jacuzzi bath.
However:
1. The upstairs bedroom is open plan with the entire downstairs (no doors!) so you can hear everything.
2. The upstairs toilet facilities are part of the bedroom - literally, there is no wall or door!
3. There is no shower - just a shower hose / head off the taps in the downstairs en-suite, no shower curtain or screen so you have to sit down to shower.
4. The sofa-bed in the lounge can't be used as a bed as there is no toilet for it unless you want to be sitting in front of the people upstairs or wandering through the downstairs bedroom to the en-suite.
5. The heating and hot water seem to be on at totally random times.
6. The beds seemed very short, my feet were hanging over the end!
7. there are no curtains, just venetian blinds which do let in light.

We did have a nice time, but wouldn't stay there again

stayed here first week in October Monday to Friday in dovetail lodge number 4. from the moment we arrived it was fantastic. Staff was friendly on check in and helpful with any queries we had. the lodge was very clean and tidy on arrival. was very spacious, and warm. on the outside decking ran almost all the way round the cabin, hot tub was ready on the first night and was nice and hot all through our stay, we used it twice a day most days and is private enough .. the lodges are quite far away from each other so you don't get any noise from other people. nice and peaceful. there was another cabin being built whilst there but we heard no noise from this. we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay here. we would defiantly stay here again

We stayed in a heron lodge, as a party of 6. A good lodge which was clean and spacious. The lodge could do with some additional items in the kitchen such as- oven gloves, baking tray, large serving bowl etc. also there is only one remote control to use between 4 tv sets which is impractical.
Lots to see and do both locally and further afield. Tesco, Hornsea Freeport and Hornsea mere all within a 20 min walk.
Hot tub is great and the site is nice and quiet. Overall a nice setting and lodge for either a short break or weeks holiday.

we stayed in a sandpiper lodge no 1, large lodge, plenty of room for 4 of us. The rooms were all well furnished the only down side was the upside bedroom woke our son early because of the light coming in through the window. All the rooms had tv's in but we only had 1 remote which we had to pass around if we needed to and also the tv in the lounge kept changing channel or turning off on its own which did get very anoying.
The hot tub was great and had plenty of room but i wouldn't say it was 'private'.
There are plenty of places to viist around the area would recoment 'Mr moo's ice cream parlor'. great ice cream ( good prices) but meals expensive.
Overall we would return had a great few days

We stayed in sandpiper lodge no.3 which was huge the upstairs was large and a nice seating area both the downstairs bedrooms were nice and a bonus they all had tv's which wasn't advertised and they all had toilets another bonus the living area was large hot tub was a nice size hot tub and nice decking lovely view of the lake slightly negative things there was a bit of damage in the lodge which was not nice to look at although reception said that they had noted these and that was fine they are developing lodges but you can't here anything. You can see the sea from the lodges and it's a bit of a trek through the grass at the back other people have done this too and you can't get down to the see cause you're on a cliff but you can see the sea another place too go is mappleton which is just down the road turn left out of the park until you see viewing area sign follow that there is a free car park and beautiful views over all well situated and lodges were very nice would definitely consider coming again it wont let me paste photos sorry
