“Airport? Where?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

You're going abroad. You want a convenient hotel. But, you don't want to stay too close to the centre of Amsterdam? Why not stay near to Schiphol Airport? If you are thinking this, do NOT stay at this hotel!!! Rather than being close to the Airport it is almost half the way to Utrecht!

On landing at the airport our first priority was to walk over to the hotel, drop off our luggage and head out into Amsterdam. We were on a football visit so wanted to make the most of the time we had. When we got out we saw a Best Western Shuttle Bus. Perfect. Well, it was perfect, until the driver told us that out hotel wasn't on his route. Instead we were advised to get a taxi. It cost a mere 36 Euro.

Once we got to the hotel, we were told there was a bus nearby that would take us into Amsterdam. After half an hour we eventually found the bus station and it took about an hour to get into Amsterdam. The last bus from Centraal Station is at about midnight so don't run the risk of missing it if you do stay here and are relying on public transport.

To get a taxi back to Schiphol the next morning cost another 50 Euro. In all honesty, for the extra 86 Euro spent on taxis we could have just booked into a better placed hotel.

The hotel itself though is pleasant. From the outside it's not particularly aesthetically pleasing, however the inside is very nice, very comfortable and clean. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, giving as much help as they could in helping us get from place to place.

All in all though, I would not advise staying here, simply because of the location.

Good Service, friendly and professional staff. Within 15 minuts from the airport. Good and safe internet connection. A hotel to stay in both for business and private. I can warmly recomend this Hotel.

Good security. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
Free shuttle to and from Schiphol, helpful drivers.
Breakfast includes nice fruit salad, friendly & attentive staff.
Free wifi in room.
Room well soundproofed, hardly hear planes overhead.

Room Tip: Room 3534 good for plane spotting. An exit door to the right leads to balcony where you can watch...

Friendly service, nice lobby and a excellent restaurant. The rooms are average, nothing special about it. Unfortunately the WLAN is very slow and the signal in my room was poor. The best part of the hotel is the restaurant next to the lobby. We were ther for a late dinner and they served excellent food, great slamon salad and also tasty beef steaks.

Let me start with the up sides.

The hotel is very close to Schiphol, not much more than 5 mins drive. The room we had two parts to it, one with a double bed, and the other with two single beds. Perfect for a family of 4.

The room was very bright, pleasant, and well maintained. There is a nice indoor pool, and a small gym. Worked very well for a rest between planes.

Down sides:
- Cheapest I could find was $200 per night plus taxes, far too much for a hotel like this
- Like the other airport hotels (as far as I oculd tell), with the exception of the Yotel inside the terminal, they do not offer day rooms/rates, nor any other option other than overnight, which seems poorly aligned with international travellers' needs, and forced me to pay for two nights when I only needed 24 hours;
- Had supper in the restaurant, and the food was rather less than average, to be generous. Best avoided.

Still, all in all, glad we went there rather than trying to stay awake at the airport.

We had a layover of 1 night in Amsterdam. This hotel is very near the airport with shuttle service to and from the hotel. It is easy to take the train from the airport to downtown Amsterdam. Thus, this really makes it convenient. The room was comfortable but not delux. Breakfast was a little expensive but good.

When I checked into hotel I was told by hotel staff breakfast was not included with the room. Breakfast would be an extra charge. There was no description on my reservation whether breakfast was included or not. When I checked out I was charged by the manager for breakfast everyday I had stayed at hotel. The manager told me I had received "bad" information by the staff but breakfast was included and it did not matter whetherI ate or not I was going to be charged. On a Sunday the buffet was not open.

The other reason I would not stay at this hotel is that it is a long distance to city center and takes about an hour one-way to get to Dam Square. Do not stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Forget about it.
