We stayed there for a weekend in April 2007. We find this hotel on the outside very basic. The room are basic Golden Tulip style. It was clean, but the TV reception was very bad.

The good thing is that the hotel has free internet service (one computer in the lobby). The breakfast was very enjoying and we could sit outside the terrace with lake view. The staff was very friendly.

One bad thing was the hotel guests were very noisy at night. I dont' know why the staff didn't say somehting about it, because the noise keeps you awake.

Breakfast is buffet style American breakfast, being hot scrambled egg, mushrooms, bacon , dutch sausage and grilled tomatos. Also excellent continental breakfast choice for smaller eaters. Unlimited tea, coffee, cornflakes etc and fruit juices.
Rooms large, with "live" BBC TV , all the local channels plus some pay movie channels.
Rooms serviced daily with clean sheets and towels. Also free internet use in reception.
Evening meal, superb. For Leger guests they lay on a very nice 3 course set menu for 19.50 euro per person. A la carte menu also available. Staff very helpful and friendly. Extra pillows in the wardrobe if needed, and the bathroom has plenty of space with complimentary shampoo etc.
Excellent hotel, and any Leger holiday guest is in for a real treat at this one!

The Golden Tulip - Velp is one of several Tulip franchise hotels located in the Arnhem area: a good, basic hotel currently undergoing some renovation, located at the Velp intersection (Exit 27) of the A12 freeway about three miles north of Arnhem. It is pleasantly located overlooking a small lake to the south, and features free wireless internet, an ample breakfast,(at extra charge) and a friendly desk staff. Negatives include the renovation, conditional frequent stay deals depending on your rate, and a somewhat misleading minibar policy.

The Tulip is located adjacent to the A12 freeway, but the location is more convenient than a problem becaue it is set back fromt he highway by landscaping and a lake: traffic noise was not a problem. The hotel is long and low, with convenient access to the rooms from the front lobby for travelers with heavy bags. There is a restaurant (closed, as part of an ongoing renovation) and lounge / bar, as well as a nice exercise room with cardio equipment, sauna, and turkish bath. The staff was friendly and helpful, with excellent English and efficient check-in and check-out procedure. If you are asking for frequent tay points, however, be aware that some room rates do not qualify for points.

The room is comfortable and basic, with a 20-channel TV with pay movies. There was Wireless Internet for free in my wing of the building, and a free terminal provided in the lobby. The bathroom is clean and the shower has good pressure and hot water. In-room coffee is provided, but the minibar is a bit misleading. There is a locked minibar, standard in hotels, but other food and drink items are scattered, unmarked, around the room. I had thought that some might be part of the perks for Ambassador members (I was suspicious about the mini bottle of wine), and, sure enough, I was charged for any food, other than coffee, that I touched (5 euro for the mini-wine bottle :) ). Be aware.

The hotel is located in an office park, so there are no restaurants nearby. Arnhem is a short drive away, with many retaurants, and there are excellent restaurants north in Velp, one mile away.

Overall, a convenient hotel located close to office parks and transportation along the north side of Arnhem.

nice, friendly hotel, very exspensive bar, images supplied for the hotel are very out of date, much better now, leather seats, dark woods,very nice looking hotel, lake outside for fishing, rooms are on two levels, no lifts needed. Very nice & helpfull staff, excellent food (gourmet) but could be exspensive. The only major fault was the costs of drinks in the bar.
5.60 euro for a larger...............?? very exspensive.

Walk 5 mins round the corner and theres a local pub, very friendly & 2.90 euro for a larger.
