A great restaurant. Fresh tuna. compliment - the tuna heart, starter Tuna lasagna, of course Sea urchins, great Tataki and memorable Sashimi. I want to return there!

“A gem midst the dross!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This restaurant is superb. Service as I have not met before in Spain-and I have lived here since 1985.
We had dinner but as we could only sample a few of the delights we shall return to research more during a lunchtime tapas visit.
Being a Tuna fishing port Barbate has first choice in Tuna all thoughts of the barbaric way of caputuring the fish have to be pushed to the back of your mind to be able to enjoy the superb end product.

“tuna paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Barbate is a small town with a nice beach. This town seems to cater for local tourists of working class. But this restaurant is patronized by real gourmets!
We ordered tuna tartar, tuna tataki, and roased cheek of tuna for appetzer. For the main course most of us ordered roasted fat belly of tuna(Otoro). All of them were extremely delicious.(We ordered mainly tuna, but they have variety of seafood and meat, too) My friends loved mediun rare of fat belly of tuna, especially.
They provide soya sauce and wasabi on request. If you are fond of Japanese cuisine, you will get a similar satisfaction with raw fish etc.
It is a long drive from Malaga or Marbella, but well worth a visit.

“Tasty tapas, locally sourced and exquisitely prepared”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

Been here twice now for tapas lunch at the bar, and neither time disappointed. Opting for the tapas enables you to graze the best if all on offer, of which there is plenty to choose from. Raw tuna with tri color sauces is a must, as was the langoustine tempura. They also have a mean sushi chef, with a nice tasting plate to share. The Cordero was cooked to perfection and the postres also beyond temptation. Good choice of wines, excellent service, we will definitely be back!

“Wonderful restaurant at any time of day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

We have now been here twice. Once for supper and once for lunch. The supper meal was excellent and we all had food that we have been thinking about ever since, wonderful sashimi, salad and seared tuna to name a few. We have since revisited to have a tapas lunch so that we could try a wider range of dishes. It was just as wonderful and all loved it. We especially liked the ajo blanco, the tuna "burgers" and the tataki although really it is not fair to single out any one dish as all were wonderful. Wonderful service as well. We will be back
