“Delicious food and great service but very dear!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Visited the moorings with my 2 kids and husband last week. The food was delicious and I was amazed at the fact the kids even cleared their plate! I had the goujans which cost 13.95 for 6 goujans a few chips and a small portion of side salad I thought this was very pricey! The staff were very helpful and friendly and always checked to make sure we were ok for everything! All in all I would recommend the moorings to people looking to get a bite to eat as the food is great !

“a hairy experienceI”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

We decided to try here on bank holiday sunday evening. The place was heaving but managed to get a table.Waited ages for our order to be taken and this should have been a red flag.We got our prawns in filo..a very pricey 9.95...for 6 prawns ..but didnt have any taste...except dirty oil...it turns out they deep fry the cauliflower in the same oil as that tasted of dirty oil too.The main was ok but the monk was a bit overcooked. The final straw came when my son got his chocolate dessert..the first spoonful contained a really long hair.I nearly brought up my prawns when I saw it..it was disgusting. The waitress took it away and replaced it and said that there wouldnt be a charge for his dessert. The damage was done.I was unable to eat my tirramasusi...paid the bill and left.Waiter was helpful but hadnt enough staff for such a busy weekend.Wont be back

“Looks can be deceiving”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

This place looks just ordinary from the outside, but inside it is cleverly appointed. The lunch menu is very good, recommend the soups and the evening meals are good wholesome food. After dinner though is when this place comes into its own. Live music, sometimes traditional, sometimes more contemporary.

“Great spot, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

I have eaten in the Moorings many times and it never fails to hit that spot! The staff are always friendly and helpful. It is really a gem of Dungarvan, the beer garden is fantastic during the summer - no other place like it in the town. The food is always cooked to perfection, I will continue to eat in the Moorings!

“Great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

The plus side to the Moorings is its location ,which is fantastic ,and the friendly staff. Unfortunately it has been recently decorated in a very bland style which has taken from its original nautical atmosphere. It now has an atmosphere of a restaurant rather than a pub, which is a pity considering its seafaring, quayside location. The food is excellent and there is a lovely beer garden backing on to the Castle walls. The toilets could do with a serious revamp though. A note to the management - Bring back the dark paint in the bar and dim the lights !!
