“five days in Ireland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Hi Guy's just got back from this hotel yesterday 5th July
Went with G.B. Tours as we have had some really good holidays with them.
If the Hotel was as good as the staff welcome then we were in for a treat, not just friendly as in business friendly but went out of their way to do everything they could to help.
We arrived a little later than expected but our meal was sorted and waiting for us as soon as we had got a drink from the bar, good lads there John and the Cockney lad, tad expensive but in line with hotel prices everywhere.
A bottle of house wine 20 euros ( £17.20 ) a bottle of sparkling wine 26 euros (£ 22.36 )
Room was fine if a little dated but perfectly clean and everything you could need, hair drier, tea and coffee maker, and a power shower to mach our own at home, plus three huge mirrors for all that dressing up the ladies like to do, only two T.V. stations and one of them was news mainly in Irish but B.B.C. down in the bar so we could watch the tennis.
now here is something that need sorting out.
On the morning we were leaving breakfast was at 5.30 so we all set our clocks but at five A.M we recieved a wake up call so that we did not over sleep, great idea but why did they or G.B. Tours not tell us they intended to do this.
I woke up every halve an hour frightened that I would oversleep and the alarm would not go off, if I had been told I could have got a good nights rest and some of our party made their mind up to skip breakfast and go for the extra hour in bed but were still woken by the phone.
Sort it G.B and make every one happy.
Graham who we have been with before did his best for us but he is a naturally quiet sort of a guy and the itinerary was changed without us being told so those looking forward to kissing the Blarny stone missed out, something I have done before but can understand anyone that went for just that reason would be disappionted, plus why do you have to stop at Cardiff Gate both ways, there are not even any outside seats that I could find and members of the public were sat on pallets left by truckers, come on G.B tours stop somewhere better than this for your customers to spend an hour of their time with nothing to do but look at their watch.
Back to the Hotel and I can only say I would recomend this to anyone as a great place to stop and at the prices we paid G.B Tours it was the bargain of the year. ROY xxxxx

“Horrible meal”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Completely tasteless meal. I had a sort of fish stew which was piping hot but had absolutely no taste. My sister had beef which was as tough as old shoe leather. We had chocolate mousse which had not been taken out of the fridge on time and so was rock hard and virtually inedible. Overall, a terrible meal made even worse by the fact that we had heard good things about the restaurant and so were expecting a lot more.

“Cannot better for 25 Euros”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We have dined here for the past 5 years & never disappointed. This year the menu had changed for the better. An amazing 6 course for 25 euros & such a large ranging choice. All freshly cooked, obviously an experienced chef - could not fault it. Margaret in the dining room recognised us from last year & the staff are always very pleasant. We were there on a Monday evening & it was steadily busy all night. So a good idea to pre book. Then to top the night off, coffee & cocktails in the bar (all included) & live entertainment, excellent. We drive from Clonmel just to dine at Lawlors & will be back next year.

“Steak on the ,rocks,”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013 via mobile

We had 8 of us at dinner following a bike ride from Cork. The steaks served 'on the rocks' were so tasty and you cooked it exactly to your preference. The rack of amb was outstanding and a great prix fixe menu fr 25 euros!
The Best part was the amazing traditional Irish music afterwards. The whole bar was singing and clapping.
