myself and my girlfriend stayed here for a romantic weekend. we booked there romance package which included a ffree bottle of champagne and chocolates. both where non vintage and looked like they where from petrol station down the road. the check in was great the girl on reception was so helpful, the following day there was a different girl at reception we asked her some questions and she told us to go ask someone else.. our room wasnt ready so we had to wait 10 minutes our room was up stairs in the back of the hotel. the room was standard nothing special. it was just like a room out of any days inn or holiday inn. the room was dated and we where overlooked by the golf course and our window would open but not close. things got worse from there. i tried to adjust the water comming out of the showerhead and it fell off the wall into my hand and the tiolet brush fell apart in my hands. the tv in our room had only 4 stations. our first night at the hotel there was awedding in the reception room but all the people from the wedding where in the hotels very small bar. we got some drinks at the bar and went up to our room. the breakfast is a warm buffet not much selection. we where half way through eatting our breakfast and went up to get some juice when we got back to our table our table was being cleaned and our breakast was gone. we where seated at another table and had to ask for tea and coffee again. we went for the free evening meal that was included in our package, we then found out that it is from a separate menu that is substandard and food that is not off the same quality on the main menu. our starters came out in 2 minutes reheated in the microwave. we had to ask twice for a bottle of wine then had to wait 30 minutes for it to arrive. we got two steaks for our dinner we had to pay an extra charge for the steak. we got our steak then had to wait 10 minutes for the vegetables to arrive again heated in the microwave. steak in a floury bun was really steak in a burger bun, they cut corners on the food. meal was ok nothing special.

overall
this hotel could be really great if they didnt cut so many corners. our booking was not cheap and the price was similar to other hotels. if they are charging good money i expect a good experience. the only thing that saves this hotel is its location. if you are going to spannish point its perfect for location. other that that stay somewhere else. there was plenty of bed and breakfasts near by and self catering cottages stay at these.

When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the receptionist at the front desk who offered to get some help for us with our bags (but we declined). In fact throughout our stay we found that all the staff were very polite and helpful – one of the few positive things I could say about the place.
The hotel itself was neat and tidy but there was a lingering stale smell throughout, punctuated by the overpowering smell of disinfectant emanating from the toilets that are just off the lobby/reception area (I held my breath every time I walked past). The decor was antiquated, the corridors were dark with very little natural light and there was very little ventilation.
Our room was very small and despite being on the 1st floor the window looked directly onto a pathway on a field/edge of golf-course, which meant we had no privacy with people strolling past. In keeping with the style of the rest of the hotel, the decor and furniture were really cheap and dated and the en-suite was stark and shabby. There were no ironing facilities in the room. One of the light bulbs had blown and needed to be replaced. The TV was a tiny 14” CRT which could only show two channels (TV3 & TG4). The sound proofing of the room’s also leaves a lot to be desired. We were woken by a crying baby down the corridor around 7am every morning and on our last night the “guests” in the next room continued to drink, talk, shout and laugh until 5am.
Every morning we had to queue for about five minutes for a table at breakfast. When seated, the waiting staff took our order for tea/coffee and toast. Most of the basic traditional fry-up components were available from a self serve buffet but there were no mushrooms (or beans). The tomatoes were not cooked, merely warmed in the same container as the rashers. The scrambled egg was stewing in an unappetizing liquid in the heated container. Milk provided for cereal was not chilled and was in fact warm at room temperature. My partner requested a re-fill of the milk jug which was almost empty and the new milk – directly from the kitchen – was still warm, obviously not refrigerated.
The dinner menu for our package was unsophisticated and included such ‘70’s favourites as chicken Cesar salad, chicken and mushroom vol au vents, and a stir-fry with the vegetables served on a bed of mashed potato! The pork that I ordered was meant to be accompanied by a red wine jus but its taste (very salty) and appearance (watery and more brown than red) left me inclined to think that it probably came from a packet. The only good thing about my meal was the new potatoes served on the side – they were delicious. Some of the desert options were bizarre, including Bailey’s cheesecake with raisins! We played it safe and opted for the ice cream, which while edible was clearly of the mass produced variety.
I’ve stayed in many three star hotels but this was probably amongst the worst that I’ve ever been in. The food was poor, the decor was very old fashioned and – to be blunt about it – the place was smelly. We skipped breakfast on the last day and checked out first thing – we went and had a delicious breakfast in a cafe in Lahinch instead! I wouldn’t return nor could I recommend it as a place to stay, not even if you were on a budget. Just avoid.

The hotel is located a bit of a distance form the town on Milltown Malbay so a taxi or a long walk would be required if you wanted to venture in. If you wanted to go down to the beach that is only a 3 or 4 minute walk.
The hotel itself is very nice, the food and staff are excellent. The buffet breakfast was especially handy as you can help yourself to whatever you wanted and there is a good selection to choose from.
Every member of staff I encountered were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Our room was basic but comfortable and clean.
There is also loads of parking space available.
The only bad thing I could say about the Bellbridge is that they only had the usual 4 TV channels. Other than that I couldn't speak more highly about the place.

I had eaten in the Bellbridge on many occasions but had never stayed here as I live only 20 miles away. However, on Valentine's night we decided to book in for dinner and stay overnight.. We ended up staying 2 nights as we got a fantastic deal of 2 nights B&B plus 1 dinner for 89 euro pps. I already knew that the food was excellent but wasn't expecting too much from the rooms. However, they were more spacious than I expected with a nice comfortable bed. The ensuite and tv were small but that is a minor detail. To be honest, it was hard to fault any part of our stay. We ate in the Bistro restaurant on both nights and it was top class. The breakfast was very good also and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was such a relaxing stay, and if you are not familiar with the area, it is an ideal location for touring all of west clare and the Burren. Highly recommended and amazing value for money.

Hi guys,

Had 3 night stay with my wife and 2 of our friends. Can honestly say it is one of the friendliest hotels i have stayed in. All the staff couldnt do enough to help us at dinner or in the bar and advising on what to see around Clare. So happy to chat away and make us feel welcome.

It is such a cosy hotel we ate and drank there the first 2 nights. Never even hit the town. All the advise they gave us on where to go and what to see and do was spot on (Thanks Tommy and Mary). The food in the Bar and Restaurant was beautiful and between the four of over the stay we ate a good selection form the menu (all Spot on)!

Can safely say i wll be back and will recommend to friands. To top it all off we paid very little for 3 nights BB. It would have been good Value at twice the price :) . . . .
