“Hotel that makes you feel like home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We just came back from 9 days in this very nice piccolo Hotel, The hotel is spotless clean, the food is great and cooked just before dinner time, Monica & Valerio the hotel owners are helpfull, kind, they always ask if we need something else. Nirvana our 3 yrs daughter is still mentioning Monica because she is very nice. we never imagined that in a family run hotel could have that attention. I forgot to mention Sandra the waitress that with her around we felt so comftable. if we plan another holiday around Lago the garda we surly stay in the PICCOLO HOTEL.

We had a lovely week in this small, friendly hotel with The TRAVEL DEPARTMENT.The rooms and all areas are spotlessly clean and the food good and plentiful. It is situated in a residential area not on the lake, but is only a 10 minute walk to the ferry quay and shops.
The beds are very comfortable and the room had a/c which was wonderful as it was VERY hot.

Room Tip: If you want to see the lake in the distance ask for top floor facing north if you want a sunny balc...

The hotel per se is quite nice : modern and even high tech. But the
opening hours are not convenient at all (18.00 to 23:00), and you are
warned that you will have to leave the room by 10, so forget about getting
a good rest or sleeping in! Breakfast is from 8:00 to 10:00, of good
quality, but you will be charged for a second cup of coffee. The service as
a whole is pretty poor : there was nobody at the reception for example to
answer our request for a blanket (not provided in the wardrobe) or to serve
a drink at the superb -but desperately vacant- bar. The location itself is
not convenient if you don't have a car, as the hotel is in a suburb that is
out of town, a fifteen minutes walk from the town center and a thirty
minutes walk from the train station, which is exactly at the other end of
the town. The neighborhood is serviced by only 4 buses a day, and one
pizzeria which is not always open. The staff -when it is there- is helpful,
but not fluent in English at all, and the brochures you are given and the
notices that are posted (e.g. credit card machine out of order, please pay
with cash) must have been translated by a machine as they are nearly
impossible to understand except for the one in Italian, while the TV
channels are only in Italian and in German (2 channels with a pretty bad
reception). Also no fridge in the rooms. All that makes you
wonder if they would not rather you paid and did not stay ?! ... To sum up, it's a perfect hotel, if you arrive by car with a good GPS system and after
you have had dinner, and all you need is a good bed in a quiet environment
before you take off for a busy day. Otherwise, you'll have been warned !

We wanted to be located conveniently to the town/lake and the Bella Italia camp site (where our friends were staying). It turned out to be a bit too far to walk to the camp site but the town/lake was about 15 mins away down a hill. The hotel was very clean, lovely breakfast and a small but comfortable room. Mainly Italian guests, but this didn't bother us. Small pool which was hardly ever used by the other guests. The owner was very helpful and friendly, booking taxis for us and giving advice about what to see and do. We really enjoyed our holiday as Pesciera is a lovely town with lots to do and see. I recommend that you hire a car because the hotel is a bit too far out of town to walk more than once or twice.

We stayed in this hotel as a couple in August 2010. Nice hotel, very clean, lovely food and they accomodated my food requests when I asked twice for a change to the menu. However, apart from the food requests, the staff were quite rude and unfriendly. They watched everything we put on our plates at every meal (especially on the buffet breakfast) and every morsel we ate. They even took away parmesan cheese from my partner one meal when they said that he was sprinkling too much on his soup!! Very unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. Would not go back to the hotel due to the staff problem.

We booked this hotel because we thought it was on or near the lake but found it was quite a distance- at least 15 minutes walk- up a winding road- so beware. We found a shorter way after a few days but still a good walk. No way is the view of the Lake from hotel as shown! On saying that the hotel is very clean with a good breakfast buffet and a nice pool area. Cleaning staff did not appear to like you in the room after 10 so if you need a rest be sure to let them know otherwise they bang the door down! Also after being cleaned the rooms were left open which we thought a bit odd! Security???

The Piccolo Hotel is a lovely charming little hotel with all the amenities of a larger hotel at a reasonble price. The owner and staff were kind and extremel helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent, rooms were clean, and quiet . The view tof Garda Lake was astonishing. Iwould stay there again.
