“Lovely chalet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Really lovely chalet near Aosta, just 5 minutes by car. Really easy to get it just out of the highway. If you are searching for natural landscape, it's not the right place, you're near the highway and the railway. The chalet is warm, really lovely, cleand big enough for 2 people. Really quiet and nice stay. breakfast is good.

These excerpts are from my blog:

The Hotel Village looks too charming to be true. There you have your traditional Swiss chalets on the outside, but inside the design is dominantly Scandinavian – organic, practical and oh-so-chic.

That night we had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant of our hotel. Björk is a Scandinavian restaurant which is very much reflected in its food and concept. A noteworthy praise of this establishment (as well as the hotel) is that the staff were unquestionably marvellous. They were the best staff I’ve ever came across in Italy, or possibly Europe.

The only negative thing I could think of was that it is situated kind of in the middle of some back street, where not much was going on there. It's not like you could pop into bars or walk around a city after dinner. I guess that's why they have such a spectacular restaurant on their premises!

But if it is rest and relaxation you are after, then it is the place to be :)

The photos are a little incongruous insofar as the hotel is spotted near a major highway, but they are nevertheless perfectly accurate. It's a truly nice place to stay. A short drive (about 5Km) from Aosta's Roman Colleseum ruins, and a nice distance from several other wonderful places in Aosta Valley. It is very Swedish influenced, with an adjoining Swedish Bar and Grille (Brasserie), fancy bathrooms, and a lovely Scandinavian breakfast set up. Very large cabin-like rooms. If I gave five stars more often perhaps... We really liked this even though the rustic photos make you think it's a mountain retreat not a hotel between rail and highway. The noise never woke us, isn't that bad at all, it just reminds you that you aren't really in the mountains.

Excellent receptionist who helped greatly with the language barrier. Nice, well equipped room with lots of space and good views from the velux roof windows. Restaurant was shut on the night of our visit, but a short drive into Aosta which revieled a lovely old town. Would definitely recommend if it is en route.

Made the reservation with booking.com we have a small dog and didn't realise until after we made booking dogs are not allowed in the hotel rooms. so we up graded for a small extra charge to a chalet and I'm so glad we did think £15.00 little bit expensive for the dog only negative we had . x We had a very nice check in friendly efficient bit disappointed the restaurant was closed on Sundays again not told in advance we had driven a long way and were looking forward to a nice relaxing drink and dinner without a drive out. However the receptionist gave us a map and directions into town all good.
The Chalet oh my we loved it very spacious warm modern comfy living room great nights sleep big comfy bed . the bathroom and oh I love my freebies the bathroom pack had everything you need pure luxury . We did not hear any noise only the birds in the morning and that was nice.
Breakfast usual buffet continental all good. The areas in the main building are spacious clean and very modern. We had to leave early for our return journey to the UK would we stay again oh yes hopefully next time for longer and yes it is very good value .

Room Tip: Did not see the hotel rooms but would def recommend upgrade to the Chalet you won't be disappoin...

I have to agree about the noise from the trains however this is a great stopover and otherwise very quiet. The rooms are good value and spacious and the chalet we stayed in reminded me of Yosemite but a notch higher. The Swedish restaurant Björk will not disappoint.

Despite the excellent pictures and invitations, the location is really worth a warning. If you're in the main building you're sleeping on top a very busy road. If your lucky enough to get a chalet, you're sleeping on top of a railroad. Really, 4 meters from your bed a train is running by. If you have complaints, the rude receptionist will answer with "take it or leave it". This hotel will definitely be removed from the "approved list".

Room Tip: avoid this hotel, especially the chalets are really close to the rail road
