“Great for some...just not for us....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

If you're really into the spa experience, this is a perfect place for you. If you're dependent upon tour buses to explore the Perugia area, this is a perfect place for you. For my husband and me, this was a less than perfect choice--and entirely my fault. (see other previous reviews from vacationers which extol the Spa Experience) In exploring the region of Umbria, we drove our own car, photographing picturesque scenery and hilltop towns and buying wonderful wine. We chose the Tre Vaselle because of its proximity to vineyards and towns and the fact that it was in the town of Torgiano, where we could walk, explore, and eat after driving around in the countryside. Unfortunately, the town of Torgiano itself (where Tre Vaselle is located) doesn't offer much in the way of tourist amenities--i.e. no picturesque medieval/Roman ruins, restaurants (other than the fantastic Spiro--another review from me coming soon), or sights--the wine and olive oil museums are good, but you can't spend all day visiting them. The Rubesco wine is world renowned--and the Osteria offers tasting and sales--but that's about it. Since it was November, the hotel was operating at less than full capacity, and some areas were not being used....there is underground parking--which we were advised of after discovering that the dozen or so "reserved" parking spots across the street were occupied..there's not a theft problem, but we felt better having the car underground...wending our way through the maze of tunnels to get there! The breakfast was adequate, but not what we've come to expect from a 5 star establishment...the restaurant served good food (another review), but it wasn't outstanding (in our opinion--having lived 35 years in Italy....) Our room #11 (suite) was very nice and we enjoyed the view of Assisi out our window. Next time, instead of staying in the town of Torgiano, I plan to stay in and explore the hill town of Bevagna for a much more authentic experience....(this review is mainly for those travelers who are not looking for a spa holiday, but who may consider this hotel due to its star rating.....)

Dear Nancy171717,
Thank you for the sincerity with which you have expressed your opinion (positive on the quality of service) on Le Tre Vaselle and your holiday Torgiano. Always tourists choose a destination and then a hotel according to their expectations. But sometimes it happens that you visit a place, a village or a region that does not match what was expected ... Perhaps this is the essence of tourism. Our customers are generally very satisfied and often decide to come back again. All, of course, depends on how and where you decide to live your experiences.
thanks again
cordially
Annamaria

my husband and i just spent 8 nights at this wonderful hotel spa.
upon arrival we were graciously greeted by annamarie and dan with a complimentary welcome drink and a wonderful basket of fruit in our spectacular room with the most beautiful view from our huge patio.

rosemary the front desk concierge went beyond all expectations providing us with restaurants
and sightseeing attractions. her beautiful smile was a welcome sight each day and night.
in all our years of travel we have never experienced such attention.

the pool is a great place to relax - very beautiful and tranquil. we especially enjoyed the indoor
jacuzzi which is huge.

torgiano is a lovely little town and a perfect base for travel throughout umbria.

This hotel is just perfect to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet! There were no children staying whilst we were there! This was our third stop on our motorbike tour of Italy, stopping 3 nights at each hotel, we had travelled from Pissa to Rome, Naples and then crossed the country to the Umbrian region and the hotel Le Tre Veselle. On arrival we were greeted by name and the concierge insisted on carrying our etremely heavy panniers from the underground garage through the maze of tunnels and coridors to our room. We were on the first floor at the front of the hotel and it was a split level room with a mezanine floor where the luxurous bed was! Very tastefully decorated and concealed doors in the wall panneling hid the fridge, the bathroom and upstairs the wardrobes were also disguised . There was a bottle of wine in our room every day which we enjoyed before taking dinner under the gazebo. Excelent menu's and of course the breakfast had such a variety you just didn't know where to start! The underground tunnels linked the hotel to the swimming pool and the spar area, the pool being peaceful set in a well kept small olive grove with lovely views. The spar was also fabulous! I must recommend the 'couples' wine treatment! This hotel houses one of two famous cooking schools in Italy and has an excellent reputation.
The village is quiet and very simple, it has a beautiful church and a few doors down the street at the tabaconist the owner practices his saxaphone all day and evening! it is actually a pleasure to listen to! There is of course some beautiful countryside and places to visit in this area especially Assisi (St Francis of Assisi) Cathederal, just 20minutes away.
We would return to this hotel any day, the staff were more than 5*..just perfect, thank you!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are peaceful and spacious, this hotel will not let you down.

We had a lovely stay in Le Tre Vaselle. We were here for a week and would have happily stayed much longer. The service is impeccable, the facilities lovely... The only problem was that there is so much to see in the immediate area, we felt torn between relaxing by the pool or taking in the varied attractions of beautiful Umbria. Torgiano itself is a lovely hill town with a particularly arresting charm. The exceptional professional, attentive, warm care of those at the hotel - whether it's help with a recommendation, directions to the train station, internet questions or assistance about a lost credit card (Grazie, Mirco!) - sets a standard few other hotels could hope to meet.

My wife and just spent a week at this very relaxing hotel. From the minute you arrive you are treated with exceptional courtesy and nothing is too much trouble. You need to take your time to discover the caved passages to other lower levels. The rooms are a delight, being both large fully equiped. Free WiFi is available throughhout the hotel and the pool a retreat with a breeze, quiet and well taken care off. Perfect service.
The little town of Torgiano has little to offer, and I hope they keep it that way.
The Etruscan jewelry maker was a world class discovery.

We were greeted with a bottle of Rubesco and well wishes! In the morning, Costas offered us eggs to order and fantastic cappuccino along with a complete buffet. When the Internet failed, a quick call to the front desk and Mirco had the problem fixed. Finally we enjoyed the pool every afternoon with Samir's help finding two recliners by the shade of the olive trees.

My wife and I have jsut returned from a very relaxing week at this hotel. I ouses quality all the way. From the minute you arrive you are treated with exceptional courtesy and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are a delight, being both large fully equiped. Free WiFi is available throughhout the hotel and the pool area.

The pool was excellent as was the provision of towels and lounger chairs by the pool assistant who constantly found each of the above for every new arrival whenever they came down.

Breakfasts were of fruit, fruit juices, yougurts, cerials, breads, cake and scrambled eggs. Coffee and tea was available on a self service basis but if you wanted fresh cappucino or expresso you only had to ask and it appeared a coupe of minutes later. Ther was a basket of oranges and a juicer if you wanted freshly squeezed orange. A bottle of sparkley wine was also available if you felt so inclined.

The bed was huge and extremely comfortable.

The only small gripe was the TV. It was advertised as satellite. It was, but apart from CNN it was exclusively Italian satellite. We wanted to watch the Olympics and got a bit fed up of fencing!

I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone wanting a quality, relaxing stay.
